LCPS: Admission results - Academies of Loudoun-AOS/AET results Class of 2026

Anonymous
DC is waitlisted on AOS and got into AET. Wants to wait for TJ results but acceptance/decline is by March 19th. If DC accepts AET, does it affect the chances with TJ? I mean will TJ remove DC even from consideration for offer if DC accepts AET? I hope not but just checking. Academies did mention that should the decision changes in future then let them know. And the waitlist process is open till first day of school. From what I can gather is that TJ offer will not be affected if DC accepts AET for now. If they get offer from TJ and accept then they can let AET know that they are declining the offer.
Does above make sense? A bit perplexed since they announced earlier than expected and just give 2 weeks.
I just hope TJ will also announce soon.

Hi,

Does anyone know how many students applied and how many are accepted each year to both AOS and AET?
Also, is AOS harder to get in or AET?

Thanks!

My daughter is also waitlisted for AOS, does anyone know if the waitlists are given based on only if someone leaves in the school the student is in or if waitlists are for the entire county? I have been hearing many rumors.

Also, I am pretty sure that if your student has been selected for aet, they can accept and i do not think this will affect tj admissions. You can always reject after TJ offer i believe.

I think it works like this:
Schools have a minimum and maximum quota.
If your school is at its maximum quota, then someone from the school will have to decline an offer for someone from your school to get in.
The school is not guaranteed the replacement spot, it will go to the next highest student from a school that is not at its maximum quota.
If the school is at its minimum quota and an accepted student declines, the spot will be replaced by a student from the same school if there is an applicant.

DD got into AOS and waitlisted for AET. If she accepts AOS, would they still keep her on waitlist for AET? She would like to know if there is a possibility of offer from AET if the spot opens up there. They did mention that the waitlist is active till first day of school, so does it mean they will not automatically remove her from AET consideration even if she accepts AOS for now?

Which school? Stone Hill, Brambleton, Eagle Ridge are limited in total seats and giving up spots to other schools. Willard is down in spots, but I think it is fair to say they got more kids in because of the nearby Curie.

What does this mean? I have a child at one of these schools.

Does private school kids have a separate quota from Loudoun County schools? Or they go according to the future 9th grade Loudoun County school quota?

Unlike TJ, there is a maximum quota per school for Academies of Loudoun. The top schools will have their seats limited to this quota.

So if my daughter is from Brambleton Middle School, does that mean she still has a chance?

Brambleton might have above its quota admitted to TJ, so sure.

She could also get admitted to TJ while being rejected from AOS/AET.

Brambleton might have above its quota admitted to TJ, so sure.

I forgot that there will be students admitted to both AOS and AET, so some spots will open up that way.

I believe March 19th was the deadline to accept. Any movement on waitlist?
Anonymous
Yep, my DS was originally waitlisted but got accepted to AET on March 19. So, the waitlist is moving.
