My daughter is also waitlisted for AOS, does anyone know if the waitlists are given based on only if someone leaves in the school the student is in or if waitlists are for the entire county? I have been hearing many rumors.
I think it works like this: Schools have a minimum and maximum quota. If your school is at its maximum quota, then someone from the school will have to decline an offer for someone from your school to get in. The school is not guaranteed the replacement spot, it will go to the next highest student from a school that is not at its maximum quota. If the school is at its minimum quota and an accepted student declines, the spot will be replaced by a student from the same school if there is an applicant.
So if my daughter is from Brambleton Middle School, does that mean she still has a chance?
Brambleton might have above its quota admitted to TJ, so sure.
