1) Brady is the GOAT and it’s not even close. Read https://slate.com/culture/2022/02/tom-brady-retirement-career-crushed-rivals.html and this Tweet sums it up well too https://twitter.com/benbbaldwin/status/1488526036673380358?s=21 So fans of other teams are definitely jelly.

2) Brady also has sort of a low key eccentric reputation, tenuous ties to Trump, his long time nutrition guru Alex Guerrero is kind of woo-woo, stuff like that. Other ex-QB’s go into broadcasting or coaching or just doing lots of media appearances and stuff, Tom Brady will probably put his name on a line of borderline sketchy supplements and start shilling NFT’s and crypto on social media.

I had heard that Brady's lack of media appearances was because he largely wouldn't appear in commercials without his teammates. It was part of how he acted as a leader on and off the field.

The numbers he has put up and his sheer consistency at an elite level for 20 years are simply insane. It will be a long time before the NFL sees another player like Tom Brady, maybe never.

As a longtime Pats fan, I mostly said my goodbyes when he left New England, but continued rooting for him in Tampa and was thrilled when he won a Super Bowl with them. "System QB" my butt. He's been in the NFL since I was 12 and it's hard to imagine the league without him, but time moves on.

On the flip side, as also a Red Sox fan, every now and then I remember that the ugly curmudgeon Kevin Youkilis is married to one of Brady's older sisters and my brain short-circuits.

Tom is so careful there is no way the omission of NE was unintentional.

Maybe a professional/contractual thing where he’s leaving the team and can only mention the team he’s retiring with?

Cheating will add an asterisk. So glad Eagles paid him back in 2017 for stealing signals in 2004. Sore loser wouldn’t even shake the better man’s hand that day (Foles). This is no leader! A man who deletes text messages….then pouts when slapped on the wrist. Man who deflates balls to gain an advantage. Agree on the scammy supplements. Right up his alley…good riddance.

There’s no way he has a contract that controls so minutely what he can put on his own Instagram. And if it did, he’s retiring, so why the hell would he need to follow it?

The owners of the Patriots are notorious aholes who don’t care about their players in the slightest, and I know there was bad blood between Bill Belichick Brady’s final year with the Pats. Not sure why he wouldn’t thank the NE fans though. Maybe he got a lot of hate mail when he left and that soured him on them?

LOL. Okay.

The owners of the Patriots lend their private plane out for just about every cause - but you keep thinking that.

+1

Such an outstanding individual, on and off the field. This seems to bother some people.
