Pour over SUCKS. I was spending so much time ... pourrrring over...... and waiting......my coffee ended up cold. I bought every kind of filter and spent so much money. Grrrrr. |
Is this a joke? Coffee doesn't contain cholesterol. |
Which ninja is it? I see one online that does k-cups AND drip.?! |
| Pour over. We make 2 carafes full each day. We don't have the super fancy kind but we do have a gooseneck style electric kettle. |

Do you have a specific model you like? Thanks! |
| Mr. Coffee 4 cup with a permanent filter. Done. |
A food doesn't have to CONTAIN cholesterol to RAISE cholesterol. According to my doctor and numerous studies, unfiltered coffee DOES raise cholesterol. I've taken the liberty of doing a minimum amount of googling this for you. "Though brewed coffee does not contain actual cholesterol, it does have two natural oils that contain chemical compounds -- cafestol and kahweol -- which can raise cholesterol levels. And studies have shown that older coffee drinkers have higher levels of cholesterol. But there wasn’t much research on younger folks until recently. Filtered Coffee Is a Better Choice A study published in 2018 tracked how much coffee people 18 to 24 drank in the course of a week and compared it to their cholesterol levels. The researchers found that the more espresso-based drinks the participants drank, the higher their cholesterol." https://www.webmd.com/cholesterol-management/coffee-cholesterol-connection |
| Just make the daily trip to Starbucks with a reusable cup. No waste! |
Interesting you say this..I’m 30s, good weight, exercise, don’t eat much sugar, alcohol or animal fat yet have cholesterol in the 190s. So not too high, but something to keep an eye on trend. I also drink 3 cups of French press coffee daily |

Cholesterol is often genetic. |
| I switched from espresso to coffee due to the cholesterol. Currently I am doing pour over with a Chemex but I am too lazy for this method, I think I will be an automatic with a timer. I have a subscription to a coffee service that mails me out coffee every few weeks. I love it because I get to try different brands. They even grind it for me. |
| I have a Ninja that does anything from 4x concentrated all the way to a full pot. It does cold coffee as well. I usually brew a half pot, but you could do the large travel mug setting if you need closer to 2-3 cups. |
I wonder if you could just pi the French press coffee through the extra step of going through a filter |
