Youngkin to launch tip line for parents to complain about teachers

You seriously believe that this is nothing worthy of concern? This is a mechanism for, and to encourage, people to police others. You know, if you know someone's Jewish or someone supports the opposition candidate, report them so they can be turned in and punished, lest ye ultimately be found complicit or "one of them" yourself.
It's an extremely dangerous political road.

And just how do you think GOP folks would react if the Democrats in power implemented these "ensuring your rights are protected" measures for citizens to report on each other about not hiring someone because of their sexual orientation or other things considered infractions on more liberal values?

It honestly makes me sick. It harkens back to the Un-American Activities Committee

Exactly right. People who aren’t seeing this for what it is need to go back and study history.

So how can we hold teachers accountable?

To what? Not allowing any debates on any topics in their classroom? or to teaching subject matter in context?
To preparing our children for work and life? or to ensure no student ever has to struggle with any challenge, confusion, or serious thought?

Agree . These types of snitch attempts ways get flooded with prank calls. This will be a waste if time.

Hopefully the TikTok kids will take care of this nonsense.

Some little genius always writes a code that will automatically call and leave this or that message. They figure out how to mimic what is needed to get the call through, they share the method out in cyberspace, game over.

This will get publicity on reddit and then fake calls will flood out the real calls. The same thing happened in Texas when they set up portals to report abortions

This is always a good idea. The schools only hear complaints 90 percent of the time. Positive feedback is great learning tool for students and it it is pretty good for everyone else as well.

Let’s go! Tip line email:

Ummm, I think the “history” that you’d like people to study will be less and less available as the anti-CRT-is -whatever-we-say-it-is book-banning folks continue their very concerted and well-funded efforts.

There are now form complaints to rat out schools reciting the pledge of allegiance and forcing those that don't believe to conform or feel excluded.

Isn't it the opposite?

Not all at.

•Authoritarian regimes exploit educational governance mechanisms to control teachers.

•Authoritarian control in schools create fear that paralyses and isolates teachers.

•Teachers tend to comply with the political agenda of authoritarian governments.

•Tabooing political topics in schools is a tool of authoritarian control.

•Authoritarian control hinders teachers in their work.

This exchange clearly demonstrates precisely WHY our democracy is weakening and EXACTLY WHY this kind of "oversight" and restrictions on our education system are so dangerous. These people don't even know the basics of types of government like democracy v. autocracy. Scary. This is precisely how authoritarianism and fascism come about, folks. Control of the message and selecting your media sources and only allowing that which aligns with your way of thinking, turning in dissenters. Wait until the "righteous" ones start becoming victims of such policing by their elected leaders themselves.

It also needs to be standard to have a punishment for false reports.

It's an e-mail address. There are no regulations preventing you from communicating with someone via e-mail. If they don't like having 100,000 subscriptions to cat facts that people feel may be helpful, they can set up a form online and require an attestation before hitting submit.

You waste resources when you get false reports.

They did this in Pittsburg and mean girls just started making up rape and drug accusations.

Exactly. They want to hear from the public? They will hear...all day and all night.
