The looters had way better taste then. |
I know this is probably a troll but a lot of people actually think stores are claiming insurance against random thefts. They do not. They pass it on to consumers and will eventually close if the shoplifting gets bad enough costing employees their jobs, in addition leading to “food deserts” and the like |
Exactly! |
| Insurance does not pay for retail loss due to theft. |
How do you make money reselling laundry detergent? |
|
Who's organizing this smash-n-grab wave in our country?
Are they using Twitter to coordinate? |
| The 7-11 by me closed down because of rampant robberies, they also kept having their ATM machine stolen. |
https://nymag.com/news/features/tide-detergent-drugs-2013-1/ Tide is also counterfeited which makes no sense at all. It's like counterfieting $10 bills. No one does that. |
BIPOCALYPSE |
| I heard a T-Mobile store was hit on Route 1 in Alexandria. Run in, grab all the phones, run out. |
|
It would be one thing if people were stealing things they needed but couldn't afford (like people taking food, diapers, water, etc during Katrina or another natural disaster, or someone taking baby formula or tampons) but that doesn't seem to be the case at all here, people are purely stealing to resell and make money. The stores I have heard of being robbed: Apple, cell phone stores, jewelry stores, Nordstroms, Home Depot, high end sneaker stores, the RealReal (to take handbags), Louis Vuitton, and Ulta Beauty.
The thieves are then going to sell these items for money. None of this ok or justifiable. None. |
When you look at videos of the looting the women robbers are morbidly obese. No robber is going hungry. |
Well aren't you just the typical liberal racist who assumes "BIPOC" did the smash and grab. |
The young people who work at the ATT store in Alexandria are mostly African American or Middle Eastern. They are a nice group of kids who have always been very helpful with my technology challenges. They must have been scared to death when this happened. |
Also the T Mobile on Columbia Pike in Arlington. |
