I feel the same too. |
| In this situation I would work on teaching child how to talk without using pronouns at all. It can be very difficult to change pronouns, and doing it daily means a lot of confusion. I find it easier to just not use pronouns and always use the person name. |
Sorry I'm PP - wrote this quickly. Didn't mean to sound that I don't think people are entitled to their pronouns. As a high school teacher I have worked with many trans students, and have found it difficult to change using pronouns once I have spoken to a student using the other pronoun. In order to not make mistakes I find it easiest to just not use pronouns. There is nothing worst than accidentally calling a student by the wrong pronoun in front of a whole class so this has been easier for me. |

There are wonderful age appropriate children's books about pronouns and gender identity to read to your children.

You’re so right, especially when the cartoon M&Ms are now gay and racially corrected… |
We didn't have this issue 30 years ago because the parents would just laugh and say grow up. And that is what the kids did. But today? definitely a great deal of progressive enabling going on instead of teaching kids the basic scientific facts of life. "We have a little bit of a boy and a little bit of a girl in us" = uh whut?

Well in your day the trans and gay kids killed themselves. So a lot of them didn't actually grow up. |
This. |
You're entirely wrong. Trans people existed 30 years ago. They've always existed. The difference today is that they're less likely to be killed for being trans. |
Remember when the media was all abuzz about the trans kid killed in Montana —- except it was for drugs? |
I still haven't figured out when you address a person with a gendered pronoun. Isn't "you" genderless? |
