In this situation I would work on teaching child how to talk without using pronouns at all. It can be very difficult to change pronouns, and doing it daily means a lot of confusion. I find it easier to just not use pronouns and always use the person name.
Sorry I'm PP - wrote this quickly. Didn't mean to sound that I don't think people are entitled to their pronouns. As a high school teacher I have worked with many trans students, and have found it difficult to change using pronouns once I have spoken to a student using the other pronoun. In order to not make mistakes I find it easiest to just not use pronouns. There is nothing worst than accidentally calling a student by the wrong pronoun in front of a whole class so this has been easier for me.
I still haven't figured out when you address a person with a gendered pronoun. Isn't "you" genderless?
