Masking is responsible. I give up on people acting responsibly to protect others. It’s sad. |
Masking has always been theater in the toddler set. And most of the masks kids are wearing are crap. The low rates among kids are more due to lower spread among kids than the old navy masks they are wearing. |
+1 effed up |
They shouldn't mandate it until all of the ages are eligible for the vaccine. |
+1 l- we have stuck with our child’s preschool throughout the pandemic even as they have closed for extended periods (of course while still charging us) and reduced coverage hours while raising rates. We have also put up with the theater of forcing our 3/4 year old to wear a mask- (which comes back disgusting/germ laden each day, has limited her speech development, and hasn’t prevented (may even have contributed to) her contracting at least a half dozen separate colds/bugs) for over a year and a half now. I do plan to vaccinate her when/soon after she turns 5, but on a schedule that works for us, and honestly if her preschool demanded proof/tried to force us to immediately do so while it is still under EUA it would be the last straw and I would pull her from the program. |
But unless the school is only a pre-k, very few kids enrolled each year will be 5, since none of the kids in the 2s or 3s programs will be 5. |
Yes this is our school. Mostly 3 and 4s. Some 4 that turn 5 during the school year and those who redshirt will have to get the shot. 5 out of 40 kids so the school will have 12% covid vaccine coverage amongst the kids. Definitely not enough for any kind of herd immunity |
For those who have preschools that are mandating have they given you a timeline? I would like to space out the second second for my soon to be 5-year old and I was curious if preschools are open to that? Ours hasn't given any specifics yet, but I expect it to be mandated soon. |
Our preschool said "by January" so there isn't really any time to find an appointment and line up both doses by then ![]() |
Please cite the law that is being violated. Thanks in advance. |
Yes, they can. |
LOL |
Wow! That is a really fast turnaround. Fingers crossed our lets us space them out a little. |
They only need to be spaced 3 weeks per the FDA. No one cares what some rando moms think they “should” be spaced. January is plenty of time-hop to it or find other options. |
NP, I don't understand these responses. If allowing a parent to add a little time in between doses ends up with a child still vaccinated isn't that better than causing a parent not to vaccinate their kid at all because they are being pushed/shamed? Let's not miss the forest for the trees in all our zeal. |
