What car to get if you don't care?

We test drove a rav4 and found it underwhelming, but it is safe and reliable and meets your suv criteria. We ended up getting an outback, which could also be worth looking at for you.

You beat me to it. I think they come with a 5 year, 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty and a 10-year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. I don't care for Hyundai's but one of my coworkers is on their third one.

Only if you need a hauler. Otherwise, just go smaller.

She said “feels slightly luxurious” inside. I don’t get that from a Rav-4, which is why I think she might like the Venza better.

Get the luxury package for the RAV4 hybrid and its good to go

My DS is getting his license soon and our plan is to make that his primary car and to get a new car for me. I should be excited, but I just don't care much about cars. Looking for something that still seats four comfortably, is reliable, feel slightly luxurious inside. I tend to like being higher up, so thinking SUV. Price no more than say 40-50K.

Any ideas?

You've already said that you love them so why not just buy a new Sienna?

Give your kid a fully loaded Prius.

Concur new driver should have something old and cheap and tolerant of bumps. Look for a (relatively) low mileage ~2005 Accord or Camry in good shape for the boy.

Subaru Outback. It’s like a high-up station wagon and the high-end trim levels are pretty sweet.

Mazda CX-5 or Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. Get the top of the line trimline, which will put you around $43K-45K after you pay the taxes and licensing fees.

Another consideration is the Lexus NX, base model or first level trimline. More refined interior than the Mazda or Toyota.

Mazda 3 are AWESOME cars for the price. If you don't care about status and want a solid ride, Mazda 3 is a very good choice for the bang you get for your buck.

I used to work for Jeep. Please don't buy a teenage boy a Jeep Wrangler.

My MIL loves her Honda CRV and is about to get a new one. Similarly, I have an Acura RDX that I really like. It's time for me to get a new one but I refuse to pay these ridiculous prices right now so I'm riding it out. Like you, I don't really care much about cars. DH has an expensive car but I just need something to get me to work and run errands.
