Sounds like you don’t need a car at all. Have you considered THAT option?
Get a e-bike instead. |
| Hyundai Palisade |
You beat me to it. I think they come with a 5 year, 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty and a 10-year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. I don't care for Hyundai's but one of my coworkers is on their third one. |
I guess you want to have the “cool” kid, but a Jeep is not safe, reliable, comfortable or anything besides being fun to drive. |
Only if you need a hauler. Otherwise, just go smaller. |
| Just get a RAV4. Checks off every box you asked about. |
The Hyundai Santa Fe is smaller. |
She said “feels slightly luxurious” inside. I don’t get that from a Rav-4, which is why I think she might like the Venza better. |
No. The hybrid CRV is called a hybrid CRV. The HRV is a different car, a truncated version of the CRV with no space behind the second row. |
| Do not get a Jeep Wrangler for a new teen driver. Not safe enough at all. |
|
I’d just get a cheap small used car for the new driver and keep the minivan. Give a minivan to a teenager, then they pile in all their friends— way too distracting for a young driver.
|
| I’m the same, I just don’t care about cars at all. I went with a CR-V. When it gets too old I will probably just get another one. |
This- growing up one of my best friends had a hand me down minivan and we always packed it full of teenagers to do sketchy teenager stuff. Definitely not the safest thing for a new driver Just get a used Kona or Elantra for the kid, keep driving the Sienna, and the bonus is that you’ll keep $30k in your pocket in the process!

| I think at this point Tesla is the "non-driver's" car. They are terrible quality and pretty much just fast in a straight line with no finesse or handling capability, so you know everyone who drives one also "doesn't care" |
