| Tuesday will be a good day for Republicans. And the country. |
Most of the country doesn’t care about Virginia. |
You know this isn’t a federal election, right? |
. Yes. I hope so. I like a divided government. Both sides are crack pots so gridlock is the best outcome we can hope for. |
DP. JFC, are you thick? Guessing that the poster is referring to the broader ripple effects of the (still unlikely) event Youngkin wins. |
Yeah. I don’t think the rest of the country cares nearly as much as you think. It’s not like we’re California or something. |
Well, certainly VA is a less consequential state than California is. |
Redistricting at all levels was changed in Virginia to a “bipartisan commission” as it should be. No commissions of any human creation are not perfect either. They’re are better than politicians picking their own constituents. That’s a flagrant conflict of interest. Of course between the political environment and delayed census results (because the current administration and its allies who have lost seats, didn’t like the results), it’s now going to courts. This decade though it mostly won’t matter. There are only so many ways to divide and compact seats that are remaining the same at all levels and still have almost equal populations. Furthermore politically Virginia has become geographically more homogenous. So again, without severe active intervention, which is what Democrats wanted, it would be difficult to gerrymander a delegate, senate, or congressional seat. |
Ha. Are you kidding? Virginia election is being watched nationwide as a harbinger of 2022, and hopeful return to sanity. |
| Sanity, huh? What exactly has been insane about the past couple years of being a D state? |
Exactly. Per Kamala on the campaign trail for T-Mac. Vice President Kamala Harris rallied for Virginia Democrat Terry McAuliffe at a campaign event Friday evening, seeking to nationalize the competitive governor's race ahead of Tuesday's election. “Each one of you in your possession has the ability to determine, yes, who will be the next governor, but also by extension, given the importance of this Virginia election, how the country is going to move,” Harris said. “There is so much power in the hands of the people, including not only determining the outcome of this very, very important election but making a statement about who we are as a nation,” Harris said from a podium at a get-out-the-vote event for McAuliffe in Norfolk, Va. |
| My district will go for the Dem candidate for Virginia House. However, I predict the GOP nominee will double the votes of the last GOP candidate. Neither is the incumbent. |
Agree. D's will win across the board. Too many votes for D's as they have money and infrastructure to do what is needed to win. |
I truly hope D's win exactly has you described. You must be working for Team TM |
let’s just say I’ve got some inside info. It’s not even going to be as close as people are saying. The margin will be well outside almost every credible poll’s margin for error.
And come Wednesday we’ll be laughing at yet another failed GQP’r. |
