Hard to pinpoint an aesthetic bc so much variation. Rich Persian SAHM is wayyy different from rich white academic/lawyer mom. And there are many things in between

Me again.
Where is the cool lunch spot?
Is there a fancier coffee shop than Rare Baird or Northside Social?
The execs at my company all go to Orange Theory - is there something more $$ and exclusive? Is it SolidCore?
Tinx thinks all rich moms drive g-wagons. I have never seen one of those in Arlington. All I see are Volvo XC-90s with private school stickers. Sometimes I see a Tesla X.
Where do these ladies shop? Old Town? Tysons?
Where do they get their hair done?

My only glimpse of this world is when someone posts on MONA looking for a “house manager”.

G wagons and other flashy cars are not as popular here (my fil used to manage dealerships and agrees). In general the rich/powerful in this area tend to be more low key because they tend to have made their money at very serious, fairly intellectual jobs where people have a serious , wasp sensibility. Even those in jobs found elsewhere are low key. Let’s say you’re a vp of sales at a tech company/-if you are based here, you’re selling mostly to govt so it’s more serious. Let’s say you’re the head of PR firm—here, your clients are much more serious.

There’s a lot of different types of rich here. SAH or very part time hobby job married to a high earner is going to be different than old DC society/inherited wealth, and both will be different than two high income/ high powered job households.

If you have to do this, try to go electric at least.

Yup. This is exactly right. N. Arlington in particular has the biggest disparity between house prices and the prices of the cars parked out front that I’ve ever seen. You’d look like a complete loser driving around in a G wagon. Even the DHs all drive very reasonable cars… they’re not cruising around in a Maserati.

Why are women in DC so proud of looking sloppy, no makeup, sad wardrobe? No one is going to revoke your Cornell law degree if you learn to use a hair tool I promise.

I’m only proud of it when somebody criticizes me about it. Sure, I could look nicer, but at least I don’t feel obligated to do it for somebody else’s sake. Frankly that does make me feel good.

Depends on how you define "rich."

Considering you are asking, I'm going to assume you mean HHI of 200k-300k. So here it goes. .

1) Buy most expensive new build you qualify for. It must be a new build.

2) Be sure to use every opportunity to post photos about the new build on FB, and keep that free tote the builder gives you handy on display. So people are reminded you bought a new build.

3) Buy a black SUV. 2 is better.

4) Be frumpy. Old Navy, Marshalls, etc.

5) Express your dislike about everything at every gathering.

6) Gain weight.

7) Be a bad host. If you invite people over, let them starve, save a plate of cookies. Can add few carrot sticks for show.

8) Humble brag about anything work related. Speech? promotion? business trip? team? Every little bit helps!

This is not even sort of accurate, and also suggests you’re a pretty unpleasant person. And LOL at 300k being “rich” around here.

Correct.
Academics are only wealthy if they are trustfund babies.

Your club
making coffee at home, only hipsters care about special coffee places
Private trainers, running solo in the woods, or boutique gyms -OT is straight bougy
You shop in NY, or someone shops FOR you in NY - old town? only if I want to look like an Ashburn housewife
You get your hair done by the same person who has done your hair for 20 years, they know your look.
