NOVA Rich Mom starter pack

Yeah, if this is Tinx (hilarious) I don't think DC moms are as easy to lock in. Definitely not too many ladies of leisure anywhere in the DMV.

No, that's the "not really rich but wants people to think she is" Ashburn mom.

What is your definition of rich? I think there are a lot of affluent dual income HH in N Arlington who mostly DGAF about appearances

I feel like you can often only tell by the car and the bag in this area, not the clothes.

I’ve read some funny posts here and this has got to be in the top five.

Why are women in DC so proud of looking sloppy, no makeup, sad wardrobe? No one is going to revoke your Cornell law degree if you learn to use a hair tool I promise.

It’s not about being proud of looking sloppy; women in this country just love repeating over and over how much they don’t care what other people think. That’s why if someone asks, do you look rich to other people? The average American woman responds (thinking she is the only one who voices this sentiment), I could care less what people think of me. It’s funny.

There is a difference between not caring about staying on top of trends or keeping up with the Joneses and being sloppy. You can wear light makeup and brush your hair and still wear skinny jeans and blousy tops from 5-10 years ago that are not considered “fashionable” these days. 100% of what I wear would be considered uncool (what’s the word the kids use? Cheugy?) and my air is brushed, but damn strait it still has a side part.

And the point isn’t that people are proud of not caring— it’s that in order to answer the OP’s Q about a “rich people of NOVA” look, there would have to BE a definable, cohesive look— which would require the people in that population to watch what one another is wearing, adopt similar styles and begin to consolidate around a certain style of car/dress/whatever. It’s how sororities (or at least back in my day) have a definable “look” (eg the black ponte pant group vs the lily p group). Maybe that type of feedback loop exists in other parts of NOVA, but I don’t see it in N Arlington.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk

(And wow, yes, lots of typos. My *hair* is brushed, and damn *straight* it’s in a side part)

We can’t wear side parts?

Only if you are a middle aged white lady

Is there even one "rich NOVA" look?

I'd imagine its a mix of preppy with athleisure with designer brands thrown in

Goes well with the debt from the mediocre degree she never used and mortgage on the Ashburn house because they “had to have more space” but couldn’t afford the new build in N Arlington or Vienna

I think this is very neighborhood specific. Curious what other Falls Church / N Arlington rich moms do, because I am not one of them and I am genuinely curious what the rich SAHm moms do when the kids are in school.
