If anything I think the fact that Meghan is white passing meant that she was probably shocked at how racist some people are. Every black person I know had some sort of experience being called a racial slur or treated differently due to their race when they were in elementary school or occasionally earlier. I wonder if perhaps Meghan never had that before.

Also “attending top schools” all your life does not mean that you don’t experience racism. I grew up in the northeast and went to a nationally well-known private school and was still called an Oreo and one of my friends was called the n-word there.

Passing for a rich white woman, top private schools all her life, sun bathing on rich guys' yachts and Hollywood layabout for all of adulthood = none of the black struggle that she is trying to appropriate. She is a shameless schemer.

Note that she personalized them with their NAMES and not their titles. She lower cased the "f" in family and upper cased it in stating they are leaving the Royal Family.

Will should have an active interest in setting precedent for siblings of future monarchs. He has two children (so far) who will benefit from an organized and fair plan. He has seen the negatives of the past no plan through his uncle and his children.

Or better yet, how about her husband who is also bi-racial, never referred to as white, and whose citizenship was challenged? Michelle was raked over the coals for showing arms in the Oval Office; Melania is spread eagle with a gun and everyone talks about her class. Or how about Oprah? All of her wealth, humanitarian act, stature, and yet, money couldn’t buy fair treatment from Swiss (white) retailers overseas. All fairly recent. It’s not 1933, but we still have a ways to go in 2020.

I think MM got a shock. She was exposed to the covert racism that many AAs have learned to just, deal with. The articles about MM continue because there is a reader base that identifies with it. It’s wrong. I absolutely that comes in to play. You can’t be white Kate Middleton and then your back on it, and hope it goes away. It doesn’t. It has been following AAs since our ancestors were trafficked. Megan is no exception.

The plan has been that they work for the crown. The Queen's sister has worked and done the royal duties but none of the other grandchildren do.

To be fair, if we believe that a good fit for William and Harry is someone who actually understands the obligation/duty of the role, understands the scars left by his parents' divorce and his mother's death, is unfazed by family dysfunction playing out in the vicious press, and brings so much cash to the marriage that she couldn't be seen as a gold-digger, who does that really leave?
