I will believe it when I see it. I take nothing this administration says at face value anymore. |
That will not be sufficient due to living conditions and density there. I fear it's going to hit India very hard. |

Italy death toll goes back up today. Was 601 yesterday. 743 today

I thought things might be improving. |
They still have a lot of people in serious / critical condition so I don't think the day over day means too much. The death rate won't start declining until the current critically ill either die or recover. There should be fewer people becoming critically ill / dying and that will be reflected in the next few days hopefully. |
Not a chance. My husband still has to go into the office a couple days a weeks to deal with classified work that can't be done at home and we have a baby and preschooler who need care (main reason why I'm not employed to begin with). Also, my specialty was NICU so I'm not sure how useful I would be. |
Yes, it's the long term trend that matters. Not day to day. We need to see what happens over the next week and two. |

Our federal government is full of idiots. Private sector has taken over. The states and the private sector will be what saves us. Which is crazy to believe (coming from a Democrat). |
That is a lagging indicator. You have to look at rate of new cases. That is reducing. That is flattening the curve. |
Or else it's lack of tests or stopping testing. It will be more clear in 2-3 weeks. I hope that Italy is at their peak and will be trending down. I think it's too soon to say. |

Coronavirus timeline:
- January 19: 100 cases - January 24: 1,000 cases - January 31: 10,000 cases - February 12: 50,000 cases - March 6: 100,000 cases - March 18: 200,000 cases - March 21: 300,000 cases - March 24: 400,000 cases |
Yikes. So we can probably expect another 100,000 in 48 hours or so. |
Lots of hospitals don't isolate MRSA or VRE anymore except in some limited instances such as an open wound or for infant populations. It's so rampant in the community, isolating anyways is considered arbitrary unless you overtest to determine every possible person who has it. This isn't new to COVID. Also, isolated patients lose out on getting the same level of care because people avoid going into the room as much due to gowning up, unless they absolutely have to. |
You don't have to believe the admin - the companies themselves are saying this! Roche, Thermo Fisher/Qiagen, Bayer, etc have all come out and said this. They are ramping up and will be delivering in the milions in the next 1-2 weeks. |
