The US military will finish its role pretty soon. Iran will not be a threat to anyone for a very long time. If anyone in the White House still has a brain cell we will declare victory and go home.

Because there is zero plan for the nitty gritty political change that needs to happen for real regime change. There is no shadow government in waiting. The Iranian people that oppose the regime are unarmed and unorganized. It's suicide to take to the streets now. I suspect most will be fine with a much more moderate government and call it a day. Especially given the alternative of civil war between Persians, Azeris, Kurds, and religious extremists.

But looking at Israel in Lebanon, they clearly mean to take southern Lebanon and expel millions of people. If the US sticks around, we will be enabling Israeli fanaticism and the destruction of Lebanon while correspondingly ensuring the collapse of Iran into chaos and mass violence.

Which is not a good look for the US. We will be paying for that mistake for decades. So hopefully Trump declares victory in the next couple of weeks and ends this. Because it is madness to continue.

They are not rooting against America, they are stating facts. The terrain in Iran is so challenging that we cannot afford to have troops on the ground, military analysts call is the mountain fortress. Same is the case in Afghanistan, that mountainous terrain has defeated armies bigger than ours.

Also, In order to win we don’t need hubris, we need to be acutely aware of enemies strengths and plan accordingly and know when to exit. Strategy secures wins, not slogans and tv appearances. Despite our differences we will all be rooting for America but for the sake of our troops, I hope we have a well thought out plan.

And it’s ridiculous because human rights groups assess the number to be about 7000. Which is huge and awful enough. But Trump can never stop himself from overreaching.
