Furlough letter - Explicit

Anonymous
Just got furlough letter. I am a democrat. I would like to say a big FUCK YOU VERY MUCH to:
The Hill AND the White House.
Anonymous
it is because no one can agree. we have a broken system.
Anonymous
What does your letter say? And it is your right to vent.
Anonymous
I would be saying the same thing.

Sorry you are going through this!

We are dreading that letter so much. I was a Republican turned Democrat turned....I don't know what now. I hate them all equally.

Trying to look on the bright side. DH is the Fed. I went back to work a couple of months ago after many, many years at home so we won't feel the effect as much as we would have beforehand. DH says he's going to take a day of leave adjacent to each furlough day for a nice three day work week twice a month. He has a buttload of leave saved up because he works all the damn time.

Sorry OP. How long are you going to be furloughed?
Anonymous
Congress sucks. Do they even stop to think that real live people HURT because of their ineptitude? Sorry OP.
Anonymous
Yep, Congress sucks. We're still waiting to hear on my husband's furlough (civilian with the DOD, so I don't have my hopes up). Meanwhile, my company, which relies heavily on government contracts, is getting ready to announce their own furloughs and lay offs because those contracts have dried up in the face of so much uncertainty. The crappiest part is that for both of us, the work we do is still out there needing to get done -- but for the ineptitude of Congress, it won't be getting done, and people like us will be in pretty dire financial straits.
Anonymous
We got ours too at the FBI. I wish it came with a schedule too but it didn't so more uncertainty...

14. I'm HH to one.
Anonymous
Yep, right there with you.

For the PP with the DH considering taking annual leave on each side of a furlough day, please read some of the recent WaPo articles on furloughs -- I beleive there was one cautioning about doing this, although I do not remember exactly why.

But Obama's golf game was super important this week, the Oscars,. . . maybe Beyonce is coming back for a visit. . . All such important matters. You just have to believe in us as Americans. There's so much hope in change. With green energy.

eff off. There's enough blame, and threads, to go around without posting stupid anti-Obama stuff here. Do you really think Michelle skipping the Oscars would prevent the people on this thread from losing a paycheck?
Anonymous
Seriously. I like how Hagel basically told everyone at DoD yesterday that our generation is so lucky to be a part of something so big and important in our government's history. Ummm...WTF? Our generation is getting the big fat screw and both parties could give a shit.

It wouldn't prevent it but it would at least be a show of solidarity towards austerity and all that other b.s. we're supposed to be internalizing.
