Hayfield Football Coach Fired

Anonymous wrote:Wow, she is absolutely terrible at this job.

There has been a huge outpouring from the FCPS community with almost all students, parents and staff entirely in support of VHSL's ban, yet she writes as if everyone is on Hayfield's side.

This struck me the most re: her incredibly tone-deaf, one-sided email/letter. She acknowledges the handful of people on Hayfield's side as sharing her "frustration" - but incredibly disregards and doesn't even bother to acknowledge the literally hundreds/thousands of FCPS students, families and employees who have expressed their disgust with what has happened here. She does not even pretend to care about them. She wrote a political ad - presenting couple facts on her side and omitting dozens of facts that contradict her conclusions (including any mention of her own investigation and/or hearing on the merits).

Nice to get paid $400k to represent 80-90 people at one school.

1.) The actual Fairfax County residents need to be at that 12/4 hearing in support of VHSL

2.) if a team chooses to play Hayfield, pack the stands for that team every game. If your team isn’t playing somebody else, go the game. For instance, go to the Edison v Hayfield game and pack the stands for Edison.

Obviously Reid has not heard that the majority is not with Freedom/Hayfield Football.

Everybody vs FreeField Football

I'm planning on attending the Hayfield-Edison game and I'll sit on the Edison side. I'll plan on reporting back the mood/crowd. Since Edison is less than 3 miles away from Hayfield, they may get a decent away crowd/protest crowd.

Do you really think Edison will play? i don't.

That’s up to them. But if they do, the county better be there to support them. Go Eagles!!!

The South County coach did not say or do anything racist, I don't even understand where that accusaton is coming from.

True but he got together the coaches to forfeit and when you have no other defense you scream racism and far left wing people like Reid get scared and do whatever you say.

Think folks should go the other way. If football team doesn't protest by withdrawing, spectators should do that instead. Gather in parking lot with signs if you want - but don't go into the game. Don't pay $10 to watch this nonsense. Crickets in the stands. That will send greater message. Hayfield will just think everybody came to watch them play.

Just like Madison, Oakton, Yorktown, Woodson, etc., there are up and down years. Talent comes and goes. Arlington football coaches have a habit of sticking around for decades however. FCPS coaches tend to move around among the schools.

Exactly. 1960. And now they’re 11-0?

Hayfield obviously isn’t the only one with transfers.

This is so weird and unnecessary. “Let’s go intimidate children!” Your emotions are out of control. These are kids. Do what you want at the hearing (still strangely invested and unnecessary, but okay), but masses of community members do not need to be out here intimidating kids (yes, even if they’re big Black guys) at a game. Calm down!

Who said anything about intimidating anyone??? They said “ For instance, go to the Edison v Hayfield game and pack the stands for Edison.”

Fwiw, I don't follow football but I know that lots of families transfer to W&L, for various academic and social reasons (avoiding the other schools). It's the Goldilocks high school in Arlington.

Wow this looks to be accurate!

The principal doesn't "approve transfers so they can play". That's not how it works.

He was the school lead counselor so yes all transfers go through him.

The only way Gatehouse is fixed, is to get some “diversity” on the school board. Stop automatically pulling the D lever, and learn something about the candidates. Single party rule is never a good thing, regardless of party.

It’s called director of student services and yes he did approve all the transfers after the last dss would not do it so she(Crowley) was transferred to another school

REID VS EVERYBODY

Without surprise she is still singularly and solely focused on supporting a single sport at a single school. Is there a phrase for doubling down after a second double down after a first double down?

The message she wrote is not one-sided, it is just fully misleading. The VHSL decision is not about eligibility, yet she continues to lead with this. She says all are frustrated at VHSL- no, wrong. Her characterization of the court ruling is misleading as well….

So glad we are paying her over $400k to support the starters at 1 school. Maybe at some point she will look around and see the other 180,000 students?

LOL right now o’clock. Just hit all FCPS stakeholders inbox.

Anonymous wrote:So when is Reid putting out her next unfaltering support for Hayfield press statement or is she just going to show it on the field by wearing a #Hayfieldby40 tshirt tomorrow might?

God I hate football.

Whatever happens post season, there will be an asterisk after Hayfield's record this year.
