Ukraine doesn't need a visit from a dignitary to show solidarity. They need lethal weapons. |
Does anyone know if he actually loves his kids? The Nazis offered to trade Stalin’s son for some POWs and Stalin said to keep him. (I think he died in the German POW camps.). That was his son from his first wife, though. Dictators aren’t often the most loving fathers. Neither are narcissists. But I have no issue using them if they are useful. |
His 4 young kids with his mistress are in Switzerland. The middle girl is a teen and with her mom in Monaco. I don't know about the older ones with the first wife. One of them was groomed to be his succesor. |
Because Russia threatened India (Imran Khan was there for the invasion announcement). Because Pakistan and China are allied with Russia. Because the principle of territorial integrity and sovereignity is a core Indian foundational principle. Becuse Russia is committing crimes against humanity. Because Russian military hardware has performed spectacularly poorly. Because if they align then they can get the Baryaktars instead of Pakistan. Because Russia left 20,000 Indian students to die. Because India's economic interests are with the West. Tata Motors pulled out of Russia btw |

What do you think the EU/US should have done differently?
|
| IMO we need elder statesmen to be involved in some type of diplomatic resolution (and maybe they are, behind the scenes) Obama, Clinton, Bush, even Jimmy Carter. We need seasoned experienced leaders to get involved and behind this. |
Lol. Jimmy Carter. How about Trump? Flynn? Giuliani? Pompeo? |
Biden and Blinken have been doing a great job so far. So happy to have a non-partisan SecState and a President that listens to his advisors right now |
First, the EU and US are not interchangeable, and it is time us and the EU start thinking about it in that way. In terms of what EU could have done differently, the EU has had its head in the sand for decades. A union mired in corruption and focused on bureaucratic, ideological policies. Germany focusing on its own economic supremacy at the expense of other union countries and cozying up to Russia and China while spending nothing on defense. It is time for EU to grow up. |
You are joking. The same "seasoned experienced leaders" who have got us where we are? I agree this administration has failed in its efforts. And, it makes me angry. They didn't enact sanctions soon enough. They didn't send lethal arms to Ukraine for their defense soon enough, even though they had weeks if not months to do this. They are still buying oil from Russia. These are the same people who planned the withdrawal from Afghanistan, so I was not optimistic. But, most of the people you listed are not any more capable of dealing with Russia. Remember Hillary's "reset" with Russia? Remember what happened to Crimea under Obama? And, Jimmy Carter? Probably the worst in terms of decision making when it comes to foreign policy? No thanks. |
Theres a reason I didn’t mention them. But you sound like a bit of an a- hole, so wouldn’t understand |
Who then? Who is capable of high level diplomacy with an end goal of de-escalation? I’m interested in hearing your thoughts. |
Xi is probably the only one capable of negotiating but I suspsect he does not want de-escalation |
