Not Random -- I think I will rob my previous' boss home, who lives in NW. He always drove a really fancy car.

Are people on DCUM saying that Wint just randomly picked a home in NW and realized while he was there-- "hey, I used to work for you!"

This was NOT random.

I do not think it was random either-It is possible he saw the porsche on the street and selected that home-seemlike this idiot (and his brothers) like nice cars.
+1

I think what people mean is that initial speculation was this was revenge for something specific, something specific that we could avoid and thus (in our minds) avoid being in a situation like this. Just having previously been employed at his company is still fairly random. I think people are looking for ways to understand this. Otherwise, it's just too awful and it really could happen to anyone.

Yes, this. This isn't random, but I get what people are trying to say. It looks like a pretty thin connection unless there turns out to be deeper professional relationship between SS and the suspect.

Hope he is caught/turns himself in soon and there will be more answers.

He will die in a shoot out and we will all be left with nothing.

I knew his family would roll over. I doubt he is coming to turn himself in.

It was established last night that he has at least 3 children with 3 different women, and had to be sued by Maryland to support all 3 of them.

I've seen many references in this thread to an elaborate security system being disabled, but don't remember anything but "no forced entry."

Can someone point me toward an article (other than a Gawker one that's not original reporting, essentially a compilation of links) that confirms this?

Wow, from the article. Does she get the $100k

Police believe the man suspected of brutally murdering a family and their housekeeper in Washington, DC, last week is in Brooklyn — because his Big Apple girlfriend told authorities he’d been staying with her, The Post has learned.

Daron Dylon Wint’s Brooklyn girlfriend called the authorities, claiming that he was with her but heading back to Washington, DC, to turn himself in, a law enforcement source told The Post.

Won't is probably the one trying to get that $100k.

I just love that he is heading back to DC to turn himself in, when he could obv surrender in NY. LIKE WE BELIEVE YOU. Clearly he is headed somewhere else.

Maybe she thought she could buy him some extra time to get away while she collected the money. they probably have plans to reunite somewhere else with the $100K. I don't see her following through

I wouldn't be surprised if he commits suicide. It spares him having to face punishment AND he won't have to give up his accomplices (assuming there are some) AND he's clearly a gigantic coward to have tortured a young child.

He has 3 kids and 3 baby mothers.

How sad that this psychopath will leave more offspring behind than his victims..... Hopefully these children never know their father.

Considering daddy is being sued by the state of MD for their support, all three mom's on welfare, the kids probably don't know him.

There, in my opinion, is a common denominator in this not so random crime. Hopefully it will come out.

Ex. :

You could sit right outside of my house for a year and never truly know the intimate details of my life, inside or out, unless someone knowing those details told you.

What's really sad is Phillip gave this monster a job and he got his and his family's life snuffed out for it.

Phillip is the son.

I'm sorry. I meant the father. I cannot get that sweet little face out of my head. That child being killed the way it's reported has shaken me.

193 pages? WTF? I guess if we ever needed proof that #richwhitelivesstillmattermost, you've supplied it.

He's a psychopath and appears highly narcissistic. I doubt very much he will off himself.

Oh yeah, just tell him we'll be waiting at the train station in DC and to take his time. Thanks for not inconveniencing us by making us come all the way up to NYC to get him.

So the police is just going by what his girlfriend says???
In that case, how do we know he is not around locally...
Lanier did not answer that question of possible threat/danger.

Pretty confident the police are not just taking the girlfriend's word for it.

Anonymous wrote:I agree with PPs who say this is random. Unless they come up with a motive more personal to this family than just that this guy worked at some point for one of the father's businesses (like he was hired by someone with a grudge against them), I would still put this in the category of terrifying shit that could happen to anyone.

Do you understand that random means no connection?

Don't be a simpleton. this guy was likely so far down the ladder at the victim's company that they had zero interaction. He just knew the father was the big boss and ergo likely rich. As connection's go, that's pretty effing thin. There is very little difference between that and any random perp targeting a house or person that they surmise is "rich".

OMG. This isn't a goddamned Socratic circle. Random would be they were just out driving around and for no earthly reason, they stopped at this house and committed this crime. Just stop with your absurd analysis of a perfectly understood word.

He tortured and burned a TEN YEAR OLD boy. That's a special kind of evil. You can talk about rich, white, black, poor. What kind of person does that?
