2024 Democratic National Convention

Hiding? You haven't been paying attention. It takes about 36 hours for results to come out.
Wednesday morning, they released the ratings for Monday night.
Thursday morning, they released the ratings for Tuesday night.
And this morning, they should be releasing the ratings for Wednesday night.

So, the ratings for last night will likely be out tomorrow. My guess is you are Gen Z and you are used to the instant gratification of having data at your fingertips on your phone, with no idea of how the data is collected or verified before being posted to the world.

The Harris campaign has holes so big on the economy, immigration, and foreign policy that you could drive a Mack truck through them.

Too bad Trump is behind the wheel.

Truth bomb.

No one with a conscience can vote for either of them. No way.

Oh lookie, another stooge trying to trick us into staying home and electing Trump.

Almost as transparent as claiming Beyonce was coming just so people didn’t leave early before Kamala.

Please show me where the DNC said Beyoncé is coming. I asked for this before but got crickets.

That's how rumors work, genius. They promoted a rumor, it gets picked up, and gullible people believe it.
And, there were tons of gullible people in the arena last night.

But it wasn't a realistic rumor. The DNC advertised that Pink was the featured performer. Anyone who realistically thought that Beyonce and Pink would be featured on the same night (or the alternative rumor was Taylor Swift and Pink) doesn't really understand how these things work. The likelihood of two A-lister music acts on the same night was unrealistic.

The only discussion was about whether Beyonce or Taylor Swift would endorse Harris. And then people got it in their heads that these headliners were going to show up at the DNC to announce their endorsement. Unlikely. If either of them were going to be at the convention, the DNC would have been headlining their announcements of the convention with that information, just like they were loudly proclaiming that Pink would be there.

Well I agree; and really, these are the only 3 endorsements which matter among democrat voters,

I mean is any endorsements more important than P!nk, Beyonce, and Taylor?

She lived in a multicultural red-lined neighborhood. Her single mom, her, and her sister lived in an apartment above a daycare. She was bused to school. Her neighbors were firefighters. The village that helped raise her was blue collar. Even if her parents were professionals she didn't grow up in a white collar environmental.

Also, do you really think her minority parents were paid equal pay to other researchers and professors? Her speech didn't say blue collar, she said middle class.

From 12-17 she lived in Montreal while her mother was a professor at McGill. Crickets about that in her speech because it doesn’t fit the narrative.

Just stop.

It’s all they have. She hit it out of the park last night. The democrats did something amazing in their convention- defined their politics as the rightful politics of the United States. The trolls attacks therefore look even weaker and smaller than usual. 2.5 months is an eternity in politics. She could stumble and the race could change again. Nothing is in the bag. But right now? They have nothing. And they know it.

No. Objectively, she did not "hit it out of the park." She did not appear to be drunk and she managed through a short speech, after saying thank you 25+ times, which is an accomplishment for her, I guess.

Game on. I'm for Trump and like our position at this point.

You support a man who tried to overthrow our government? You're a bad person.

You might want to rethink that talking point, given that your candidate literally overthrew a sitting president.

This is dumb. You are dumb.

They have consistently released the ratings all week. They've outperformed the RNC convention every night on Nielsen ratings and I'm sure last night will be the same. And Nielsen ratings don't even account for people who streamed online -- Harris' base is younger and more educated than Trump's so the higher TV ratings likely don't even include a large chunk of viewers who just streamed the speeches straight from the DNC website or YouTube.

They are "hidding" nothing. The convention was a huge success and they will talk up that success at every opportunity because they are running a tight and professional presidential campaign. Trump on the other hand is hiding a lot of stuff and his campaign is a mess. Good luck soldier -- you picked the wrong side.

Here's a little secret....

I am a Trump supporter who tuned into some of the coverage to see if they talked about policy.

You know what I didn't hear? Talk about policy. Platitudes about "focusing on the middle class" doesn't cut it. That is not policy. It is not a strategy or a plan. In fact, based on her last 3 1/2 years, it's a lie.

You tuned into some of the coverage, but you know what was discussed through your the entire evening?

NP.

I did not hear anything about Harris’ accomplishments in overcoming the border crisis (which remains a crisis).

They would never have brought in Beyoncé or Taylor because the night had to be about Harris. No one at the DNC wanted the headlines today to read "Beyoncé thrills crowd in surprise appearance."

They actually nailed it with enough star power to make the night feel important and festive, some short but good speeches from a variety of Dem up and comers, none if whom stole the spotlight, and then just Harris's family talking about Harris, and Harris herself. She was the star. It worked! Every report on the convention is a huge photo of Harris looking strong and happy and pull quotes from her speech which was loaded with good soundbites and well delivered.

If Beyoncé had performed it would have been about Beyoncé. If Taylor had done an endorsement speech it would have been about Taylor. Neither if those women are running for president though.

Plus, in two month, we will feel like 2 years of news has happened, of this summer is any indication. Swift is back touring in the US this fall. Deploying her and Beyoncé the last month of the campaign to win new news cycles is the smart move. I can definitely seeing her appearing at a Dem GOTV event.

Is anyone actually dumb enough to think Trump or Harris is going to do anything to make their lives better? Silly people.

I've got better broadband in my rural area because of Biden. So, yeah. Harris is going to do stuff to make America better. Trump is either going to make it worse or whine about how things used to be better.

Hahaha. Trump had a 90 minute speech at the RNC and gave no more information that Harris did. He made a lot of promises just like he did in his 2020 campaign. Promises he didn't keep in office. He made a lot of promises in his four years in office and most of the time it was "we will have details in 2 weeks". Apparently he left office 13 days after he made those promises because he never implemented or gave details about those plans.

The Harris campaign is a continuation of the Biden administration in that they will make promises and they will deliver something other than promises that will come out 2 weeks from never.

And has chauffeurs instead of a drivers license. Agree she is light on policy. But she can be, because Trump can’t string together a coherent thought. So, she can debate by letting him ramble, then looking at the camera, shrugging and going: I can’t respond because I have no idea what he was trying to say. It’s just weird. And most of America will agree. And it’s in her best interest to be. And honestly, she pro-choice and anti-insurrection. For many of us, the rest of the policies aren’t going to change our vote.

Including that would not have taken away from her speech. Sad that her mother had to leave America for a better lifestyle.

Tweens don't get to pick where they live. What is important is that when she could decide for herself, she returned to America to attend Howard University (HBCU) and selected a career of service.

And by the way, where was her father on the biggest night of her life? Oh that's right. They hate each other.

So you're unqualified to be president if you're estranged from a parent? What a ridiculous comment.

Let's just keep voting for GOP and Dem candidates and donating our hard earned money to their campaigns and eventually they'll reciprocate by paying less attention to their mega donors and more attention to Americans that need help the most. This is how it is supposed to work, correct? Lord have mercy on the ignorant American people.

This is such a stupid talking point. The DNC was sold out before it even started. There were not even any volunteer slots open. As it turns out, Kamala Harris doesn't need internet rumors to fill arenas (remember that there were three sold out days before she even addressed the crowd, and on one of those days, she was speaking at a full RNC arena AT THE SAME TIME).
