| I know this sounds petty, but it's part of your address and something you have to write and tell people over and over. Would this be a deal breaker for you? Am I being silly to even consider it? (The street name I hate is a common word but that's mispelled.) |

This is neurotic and funny. Are you Elaine?
I understand hating a street name, but I certainly would not let that affect my purchase decision. |
| Get a PO box. |
| It would give me pause. How bad is it (without necessarily revealing the street name). Is it embarassing? near-Derogatory? personnally unappealing? |
| WASP lane, mclean va? |
It's the equivalent of spelling Ashley AshLee. Just tacky in my opinion. |
I have to admit this would give me pause too. |
| I avoided a house on Stirrup Cup lane becuse I didnt want to be forever reminded of OB/GYN appointments. |
| Ugh. Hate when cities let developers name streets after their family members/favorite stripper. |
Ha! |
Check if there's a similar street name in your area. It's possible you can use Ashley if there's no other ashle_ streets in your zip code. |
Not a bad idea at all! |
| When we lived in Mich I fell in love with a house in "coonpath rd"... I just couldn't do that! |
| There's a Scroggins Road in Alexandria that always makes me laugh when I drive by. And thank the real estate gods I don't live there. |

My husband is an immigrant with a name that most americans have a hard time spelling/ pronouncing. (They expect it to be hard, but it isn't. It's spelled phonetically, but I digress.)
HE was never happier than when we lived on 18th Street. Nothing to spell! Nothing to mispronounce! Now we live in the tree-streets, and that's ok too. But I can imagine he would have been very resistent if the dream house was a few blocks down, on Quackenbos. |
