Fire in upper NW?

The |FB paage of his brother has a pic of a safety vest-wasn't a vest mentioned in the news reports. Brother likely was an accomplice-it seems like a low life family-though the sister just graduated HS-a big feat in that type of family. There is a pic of a guy with her that looks like the perp or one of the brothers. Pray this animal turns himself in and also reveals any and all accomplices.

Oh yeah, just tell him we'll be waiting at the train station in DC and to take his time. Thanks for not inconveniencing us by making us come all the way up to NYC to get him.

You are wrong on all counts.

How in the hell did this guy still have a green card?? I guess domestic abuse is a misdemeanor? Was he not actually convicted of any felonies? I've had family members lose green cards for paperwork processing errors while this demon is allowed to freely roam about doing whatever the hell he pleases without any consequence. I cannot wait until he is caught.

Not Random -- I think I will rob my previous' boss home, who lives in NW. He always drove a really fancy car.

Are people on DCUM saying that Wint just randomly picked a home in NW and realized while he was there-- "hey, I used to work for you!"

This was NOT random.

I do not think it was random either-It is possible he saw the porsche on the street and selected that home-seemlike this idiot (and his brothers) like nice cars.

It took me a while to catch up with the end of this thread, mostly because so many of the posters here are paranoid and hateful.

1. Please do not make anymore comments about prison rape or how he's going to be living large in jail, whichever is your preferred fantasy/outrage. Prison rape is not righteous or good, no matter what someone did. Jail is not a hotel, no matter how much you want to think it is.

2. Re: hiring felons. Many of you are lawyers, so you should know that there are a lot of kinds of felony. What this man is accused of doing - felony. Copyright infringement - also felony. I also vaguely recall that driving more than 20 mph above the speed limit in VA is a felony. If you're saying "No one should ever hire felons" you are talking not just about violent murders but also non-violent criminals whose offense is deemed that serious. Because of the war on drugs, there are many non-violent drug users who have felony convictions even though they never hurt anyone in their lives. I think it is just and compassionate for businesses to provide second chances to convicted felons who are trying to establish new lives and behavior patterns. Suggesting that this crime wouldn't have occurred if AIW hadn't hired this man might be true, but it also might not be. This man still might have committed this crime, or another crime even more awful.

3. Right now, this man is the only suspect. Suggestions that his whole family is in on it are just as offensive as the "Housekeeper is in on it and sent MS-13 to extort money" suggestions from yesterday and the day before.

Unless they come up with a motive more personal to this family than just that this guy worked at some point for one of the father's businesses (like he was hired by someone with a grudge against them), I would still put this in the category of terrifying shit that could happen to anyone.

Do you understand that random means no connection?

It does seem to be a confounding concept to some here. In this case it refers to connectedness. Not probability that an event will occur.

just wait til all the 20-somethings in this country realize they have no future (thanks to the baby boomers).

this is really gross. the motivation for the crime was that a monster did not think anything of turturing a child to get some money out of his parents, and of killing them all once he got $40,000 cash. and please do not offend 20-something people by implying that they are going to commit crimes like this

PPP, just because someone is poor does not make or lead them to steal or cheat, let alone commit these barbaric acts.

I wonder if you have the courage to speak like this in real life. Appalling.

Wow, from the article. Does she get the $100k

Police believe the man suspected of brutally murdering a family and their housekeeper in Washington, DC, last week is in Brooklyn — because his Big Apple girlfriend told authorities he’d been staying with her, The Post has learned.

Daron Dylon Wint’s Brooklyn girlfriend called the authorities, claiming that he was with her but heading back to Washington, DC, to turn himself in, a law enforcement source told The Post.

OK enough with the who is more/less racist debate. Can we talk about the fact that he has been staying with his girlfriend in Brooklyn?! She called the cops apparently so she must be pretty sure he is gone and not going to kill her....

So the police is just going by what his girlfriend says???
In that case, how do we know he is not around locally...
Lanier did not answer that question of possible threat/danger.

Re: the suspect's connection to the family

We don't know yet the extent of the connection. The first thing Lanier said at the press conference ended in "connected to the family business." When she said "family business" I assumed that had something to do with the martial arts opening in Chantilly. I wouldn't have assumed "family business" meant AIW. Then she did clarify he was a former employee of AIW. but that's all that was confirmed. We know there is a strong likelihood this person had at the very least been to the Savopoulos house before. Otherwise, how would they know about the extensive security system? I am not rich, and I literally had NO IDEA about how the kinds of systems described in this thread would work. No idea. I'm sure with research you could figure it out but that's assuming you even know what to look for - I wouldn't have assumed there were cameras that could be monitored remotely. Now maybe he just ordered them to disable it all and they really did it to the letter out of fear, but he still had to breach the system at some point. I worked in a building owned by Arlington county that didn't have a security system as extensive as what some of you described (although if you didn't enter the code within like ten seconds, the police were automatically called, so there wouldn't have been any time for any back and forth about it. And yes, the police were automatically called several times due to employees just messing up). So how would a person that had never lived like this know all that?

I wonder if maybe while the suspect worked at AIW, he worked on a project that took him to the Savopoulos house, or Savopoulos being kind as he was described, maybe tried to give him an opportunity to help him (possibly with this business opening) and this is what happened. It seemed like he somehow gained more knowledge than just "this is the CEO's name, he's rich."

NP here - to 13:21 - sorry, but it sure looked like the friend was pleased to be on TV and spent a lot of time getting dressed and made-up for the occasion.
