Martas vs abby wambach? |
He is having problems in the premier league. This is why people are higher on Gio vs Pulisic. It is what it is. The other interesting statistic is taller player play longer. After 30 the average height in increases by 5 cm. |
Nothing is equal such as the USC Rowing Team (ie Lori Loughlin). But if everything being equal, height is always more regarded. |
I agree...."But". As another poster put it, players are recruited after a review of the total package...height, weight, skill, speed, iq, vision, academics, leadership, attitude, personality, resilance,, ability to receive financial grants via academics et al, what it will cost their program to accept this kid..etc. |
Academic record is another area people sleep on. |
Thread title is “physical attributes”. |
Yeah. Well. We have progressed |
.....but the recruitment for fast/tall players still remains starting at the club level. |
Not many tall fast players. Lmfao |
Almost every tall player can outrun a shorty.every time |
That's not how speed works champ. |
Actually, it is. https://www.livescience.com/7819-taller-athletes-faster-study-finds.html |
Soccer is still a 10 yard game and quickness is vital. Tall kids are fast but that is why they play on the outside. Like most sports there are different positions with varying attribute needs. As players grow and advance through competitive levels those attributes certainly get filtered but by the same token it is also rather useless to look at size charts for Premier League soccer players as if they correlate to both youth or collegiate soccer considering Division I, II, III levels of play. Actual skill will always be the primary determinant with relative size being a filter of sorts. You can be a tall player and may get the benefit of the doubt but at some point you have to be able to play. If you are a talented player, regardless of size, there is a college spot for you. |
