It is a good opportunity for Rep. Richmond but I am not sure about the comparison to Jarrett. She had a broad portfolio and large staff due to her prior relationship to the Obamas. Her exact titles did not really matter. Still, it is an office in the West Wing for the congressman. |
Treasury has been selected and to be announced within the next week. Apparently its someone that will satisfy both Progressives and Moderates. Im think Sarah Bloom Raskin. |
Agree, I don’t dislike Pete but as mayor, he was only so so. He needs to kick ass at his next position and then he may be a legitimate contender. Although cabinet position is not usually the route to president or Vice President, he probably should be running for Congress, or statewide, but that is probably a harder road. |
Yes, I think it will be Bloom Raskin as well. CNN says he's close to SecDef pick as well, and could be Duckworth. Although everyone thought Flournoy, and it could still be she, progressives are very unhappy with her ties to defense contractors and that could derail her. Although Duckworth wouldn't be a conventional pick, I think she'd do well with the right team. And it would position her well for the future. |
Ooh Merrick Garland in the mix for AG. |
YES! |
lolololol would he really want this job, though? isn't his current job pretty sweet? also lolololol it feels like we are in season 47 of the same tv show and every character has to date every other character at some point |
Is he a bulldog? I hope for serious enforcement of all the laws violated by the GOP. |
This made me laugh and laugh. Picturing Allison and Jake on Melrose right now. I wouldn’t leave his sweet lifetime gig for this but who knows. https://www.npr.org/sections/biden-transition-updates/2020/11/20/937043662/merrick-garland-among-biden-candidates-for-attorney-general-sources-say |
when will they announce secretary of state? |
He's 68, AG might be his last hurrah. He handled the McVeigh case, plus other domestic terrorism cases, so perhaps good to have someone like that in place when the inevitable domestic terrorism cases rise in the coming years. |
Not at all. He's known for being centrist/moderate, and will 100% not go after any of the grifters in the current administration. He also has a lifetime appointment; why trash that? |
He's 68. How meaningful is a lifetime appointment at that point? |
