yeah, it looks like she wanted something permanent (marriage, baby) and he didn't.

I have a friend who did not take the pill so she can have a baby. Her Bf at the time did not know. She got pregnant, they married instantly.

Happy 8 years later.

Married friends ended up having their first a little earlier than planned because they had been separated for work and when they reunited wife told him she didn't have b/c. He was willing to chance it, and 9 months later...

Because she took care of the home front, he was able to focus on his career while having a bunch of happy, well adjusted children.

It is entirely possible. I did always think there appeared to be a mis-match between the two based on public appearances. Jen is super sweet, West Virginia raised self described "goody goody" while Ben is a LMC junkie with mental health problems. He probably cannot relate to Jen's normalcy and missed excitement and passion.

He would be a better fit for someone with a more troubled past.
