Or expanded targets for picking on. |
Very interesting perspective
|
This is a fairly serious matter, and making light of it is all the more reasons to diversify the segregated schools. |
I don't have any problem with either diversifying or segregating the schools - as long as you do it the right way. The end does not always justify the means. If you still don't get it, let me make it even more clear: if you invest money on a new merit based school which only accept students with high scores, that is clearly going to be a "segregated" school based on the definition of many posters here. However I don't see a problem for that. If you, instead, lend money to those who can't afford the expensive housing in those "segregated" school zones and encourage them to move in, that is a way to "diversify" the school. I don't see a problem for that either. Now apparently you are not going to do any of these. SO shouting out "we need to diversity the schools" does not help. It makes more sense talking about real actions, rather than empty slogans. |
Cheaper to simply charter the diversity bus than loan people money to buy housing elsewhere. The county isn't that big. Busing is an easy solution. |
No one is suggesting the county to loan money to anyone for housing. |
I feel sorry for students in Japan, China and other countries with little racial diversity. These students will never be able to learn empathy and understanding. |
+10 so true and something that's in dire need at Churchill. |
Bad example. I lived in Japan for a while and it was the most racist place I've ever been. |
Yea, that PP is comparing apples to oranges. Japan and China are pretty homogeneous. The US is not. It's made up of lots of different races and ethnicities and religions, and the nonwhite population is growing. |
That is not what people are talking about. If you claimed the Japanese were people with least empathy and understanding, that would fit in. |
A healthy dose of diversity busing will cure Churchill of this ailment. |
And you are happy to pay for that? I certainly am not, not for some of your ideologies. |
pay now or pay more later... |
yeah, they have no empathy for non-Japanese. Better? |
