Is Prince William jealous of Harry and Meghan's popularity?

wow 6 years and 3 children later kate looks amazing!

Yeah, I think the posters raising the issues of Brexit make good points. A British public that is economically suffering isn't going to tolerate what increasingly comes across as entitlement from William.

I want an excuse to wear that green dress, lol.

Or anyone else in the royal family for that matter. Doesn't matter how many charity events they attend or how much they appear to care about a particular issue, there's no reason for a struggling economy to pay out the wazoo for a family to live in luxury just to be the "face" of their nation.

Honestly how is this still happening today?

How in her good conscience can she let these people carry her?

So disturbing!

I think H+M did it better with their Maori welcome ceremonies. They were apart of the process which was hours long, did speeches, and wore cloaks.

But I do think William and Kate were so adorable in 2012. Good sports.

If they are guests of the country, and there is some tradition to the chairs that is important to the hosts, then you get on the chairs and wave.

No, I don’t think William is jealous

This is only a tradition because the royal family let themselves be revered as gods when they first colonized these Pacific Island nations. Phillip and Charles are venerated as are their immediate heirs.

The optics of this is as bad as the President colonizing a South American Amazonian tribe that is uncontaminated then going back and asking for offerings every 50 years.

Tuvalu is a beautiful island nation and it'd be better to establish guidance and trade along the lines of the MDGs than photo ops in mock thrones.

You do not know if the local community wanted this ceremony or not.

Well, Tuvalu is sinking because of climate change so it might be good to focus on that rather than ancient traditions.

I didn't post the photos in the chairs but I think it succinctly illustrates the disconnect. William and Kate do what have to for the photo ops but rarely go above that to address the major issues. Contrast that with Prince Charles' recent speech in Ghana condemning slavery and the British Empire's role in that. Or Harry's speech in Australia about the environment and climate change. William can't be bothered.

I cannot believe they did not receive more backlash because of those thrones. It gives me horrific flashbacks of white colonization of indigenous peoples world wide.

Who's idea was that photo op?

I don’t see why William would be jealous. Kate is gorgeous as are his children. Harry is just at a different stage. Plus, William will be king.

It was September 2012 - the only thing the press cared about was why she wasn't pregnant and when it would happen. They announced on December 3rd.

This. I don’t understand it at all. I am watching The Crown, and do find it very interesting.
