Serena is a bully and a crybaby

and what's your point? Nadal threatened Ramos after receiving a time violation, but no point or game penalty. Andy Murray shouted "stupid umpiring" at Ramos and also no point loss or game penalty. Shall I go on with verbal warnings to male players with no point or game penalties, because there are plenty more examples?

and this discrepancy hurts Serena how exactly? when was the last time she played against nadal?

Because if rules are enforced inconsistently, then aren’t rules, just whims and you don’t know what they are at the outset of play.

all players know that they might get a penalty for coaching. it's a whimsy rule for sure but not particularly directed against any single player.

Just watched the whole thing via the NYTimes and she appeared very disrespectful towards the umpire. Berating him and insulting him. Unacceptable.

I feel very sorry for Osaka.....she's adorable and was robbed of the joy of her win.

Oh my, yes, championships should definitely be decided on the adorableness of the players.

She beat her in March, she was beating her badly yesterday too. Do you really think Serena would have lost her temper if she was leading? Do you watch any tennis? Serena has not been playing well since she came back, this was as good as it gets.

Since she came back, Serena has reached the finals of both Wimbledon and the US Open. Oh, yes, VERY poor playing.

John McEnroe did that every match.

I wish you and many other white critics here could step back and see that this is your repressed racism coming out here. This is the same repressed racism that makes you all hate on M Markle without having any real reason. You are hyper critical and rush to condemn any potential misstep by these dynamic and successful women of color. You will hold up the rule book and exclaim “but she broke xyz rule and that is just how it goes” but I didn’t hear anyone picking up the rule book every time a man broke the same kind of rule and wasn’t checked for it. You will come up with any and every reason to diminish these women and others like them. This is why black parents have been telling their children for generations that they have to be twice as good to be considered half as good as whites. It doesn’t matter how well the assignment is complete overall, if there is a t or i left uncrossed or undotted, a white pwrson will find and run with it to prove your unworthiness. So, when you find yourself asking again and again why does Serena seem so have such a chip on her shoulder, please understand that you helped put it there by continuing to ask the question.

I just rewatched it and she's calm, but yes, emotional-- her voice squeaks a bit. He just looks like a smug prick trying to save face. He's like That teacher saying, ok keep going and you get a detention. Ok, 2 detentions, would you like 3? His little ego is too fragile.

DP. No it is not. You must not watch tennis. She is nasty on the court when she loses her temper. Men get warnings all the time, they argue all the time, but never to that level of insulting and yelling. The other player is black too, no? Serena has accomplished a ton, I mean insane number of titles and success. You should tell your kid to take a look at Naomi Osaka and take her as an example of an African/Japanese role model. Serena has no reason for a chip on her shoulder, not anymore. We can't all act like she is 10 year old girl. Today Djokovic had to replay a point that was good but called out, he didn't' lose his mind, and he is known for losing his mind. But, he was winning, see the difference here? Serena is a role model to so many kids, she should act like a mom that she is, like a legend that she is. This is beneath her.

That's how women are categorized when standing up for themselves... Hysterical... Men are assertive. Double standard.

You do realize that Osaka holds American citizenship and has lived in the US for 17 years, while only living in Japan for three years.

I get that she has chosen to play under the Japanese flag, but she is as American as anyone else who is a citizen. You can't take that away from her.

Are you blind... Men ... Never argue to that level. You are showing your bias. When men do the same or worse it's okay, when women do it it's disrespectful.

I do not know the rules of tennis at all and the video showed Serena keep on talking about her being called out for cheating. What was that all about and what is it equivalent to other sports such as football?

You are blinded by your prejudice and can't actually comprehend what I wrote. Oh, well, I tried. How many men have you heard tell the lineswoman that she will shove the ball down her throat? I bet you none in public setting, but Serena has said it loud and clear. You keep thinking she was right, did you even watch it?

Yes, and she uses her mom's surname. She holds dual Japanese/American citizenship, so she is just as American as any other American citizen.

She moved to the US when she was three, so she has lived in the US longer than she ever lived in Japan. She went to school in Florida.

McEnroe yelled but never demanded an apology. Serena took it one step further. It wasn't just a temper tantrum, it was a ploy to push buttons and cause a blow up.
