You must have gone to a state university. (^^^This is an insult. I learned this on the DCUM private school forum!) |
True fact: there are real actual people who actually go to Watkins Mill HS! About 1,500 people, in fact. Have you ever been there? |
Yes. I know that and I actually have kids in a "lesser" HS. I just wanted the Pp to have to Google Watkins Mill, because clearly she is clueless if she does not think her kids are spoiled, I know they go to a W school, just wondering if it was Watkins Mill. |
Not a PP but I did actually graduate from Watkins Mill and my kids are in private elementary. I really didn't enjoy my high school experience. I was very self motivated, took the hardest classes and have done very well in life. Some of my friends have done amazing things in life too but I believe it was despite the high school experience not because of it. |
That is a marvelous suggestion, PP! Thank you! From now on, the W schools are Whitman, Walter Johnson, Wootton, Wheaton, and Watkins Mill. |

to each its own!
there I said it! |

I have applied to a couple private school for my kids for next year.
After reading some of these comments I have realized I rather give my kids a public school education. Why? because it brings them back down to reality. |
ha! so true |
| I find it funny that so many public school parents who claim that public school is so much better than private, spend so much tine trolling and posting to the Private/Independent School forum. Hop on over to the public school one! |
Maybe because those people worked their butt off to get to where they are. Maybe because they were not handed everything to them on a silver platter. Maybe because they graduated from public schools and they expect their kids to do the same. |
| If only our children read this thread. : / |
That's funny! |
Oh, don't worry, I read that one too. But this one is more entertaining. |

| My husband turned to me in the car the other day and said that if we took the kids out of private school that we could live in a house that was $1M bigger/nicer. That really gave me pause. Yes we are choosing private, but is it really so wrong to prefer to go public and then have all that money to--gasp!--live in a nicer house, take nicer vacations, eat out all the time, etc? It made me feel like a fool for spending so much money just on school! |
