A neighbor with mental health issues can also be a possible suspect. In Georgia, a young man with reported schizophrenia murdered a young couple in their nearby home. His older brother had similar mental health issues and murdered someone in the DC area.

Authorities aren't denying that there is a ransom. If there is one, the people who did it must be ignorant. Of course, this would get major news and most elderly people at that age on some major medication for health issues.
