You can't really just defund appropriated funds based on an unsettled legal question.
The defunding has to take place after due process.

That is the problem with most of trump's actions. They circumvent due process, in some cases it's just the circumvention of a notice period but in cases like this, they have not established the basis for the defunding and they are discriminating based on policy differences that are not in the funding legislation.

The federal government has to win a lawsuit at some point before they can do this.

Agree. It is not safe for women for women’s locker rooms to have a biological male who can just enter because he says he identifies as a female. Even if FCPS feels like they can’t change the rules, they could have a better process to ensure a student is actually transgender. The student in this complaint is not even actually transgender and is abusing the system so he can get into the girls locker room and see exposed bodies- pervert and soon to be sexual predator. It’s unsafe for the girls at all FCPS high schools in the locker rooms and bathrooms. It’s unsafe. This is why more and more families will leave a private schools or do homeschooling, and more families need to take legal action and complain. I would remove my daughter from the school and demand that FCPS pays for private school since they can’t provide a safe learning environment for biological females.

The trans community should also be willing to go to a separate bathroom instead of biological trans males insisting on entering female locker rooms or bathrooms.

agreed. Maybe schools should have locker rooms and bathrooms for boys, girls and trans. Every group gets their own space.

That’s the mind boggling part. Teachers and admin were just like “OK” and that’s it?! No one at that school thinks it’s suspicious and worth investigating further than this. And FCPS state says they were working with all families affected. Did that include this kids parents who then insisted he use the girls locker room? They certainly aren’t working with all affected families because they aren’t giving the rest of the girls (or their parents) much communication. Are we allowed to tell the teachers our daughter won’t be changing for PE for the rest of the year?

Maybe the original family should have filed a police report to get any action?

What I strongly object to is the idea that, just because a girl happens to have a penis, that she should be made to feel ashamed of her body or worse, be segregated from other girls. (Separate but equal anybody?) This is no longer a frontier civil rights issue, this is just settled science. Treat girls as girls, period.

And by the way, there are plenty of same sex attracted cis girls in the locker room. Maybe you want to segregate them too.
