Boys don't belong in girls spaces. |
Please tell me how the school system determines who is "trans? " Is there a policy for this? Is there any monitoring on who is allowed in women/girls' spaces? Serious question. I can see room for lots of abuse here. |
+1 Also agree that our property taxes will go up to compensate the lawyers and SBO. |
I can't believe FCPS is dying on this hill after losing the governor's race on this issue 4 years ago. |
I think they are being sarcastic. A school board should primarily be focused on school. |
It probably stops at trans girl participation in real girl sports. This is about stopping the encroachment of DEI in our society. He was elected on this issue. |
The people who are fighting against Fairfax's policies, the Republicans, have control of the executive branch, legislative branch, and judicial branch. They also have the state governor, the state attorney general, and the state lieutenant governor. Most importantly, they have willingness/eagerness to flex their authoritarian muscles and rule by fiat, prior rules and precedents be damned. I don't see white knight jumping in and fixing matters. For Fairfax County, this is triage time. The benefits lost by being unable to support the transgendered community to the degree they would like... versus benefits lost because millions in the federal funding have been cut off. The latter is still vague at this point. I hope somebody has performed an analysis and weighed the options. I don't want to later read about how this cutoff was unexpected. |
About to lose it again for the same reason. Polls shaping up to be just like last time. |
Which polls? Dems winning this upcoming governors race is a sure thing. |
If you look at past polling you’d see why that doesn’t really make it a sure thing. Roanoke’s poll from this week shows Soanberger leading Earle-Sears by 7 point lead. Their polling from the same time in 2021 showed Mcaullife having an 8 point lead over Youngkin. To refresh your memory, Youngkin won. |
How can you possibly be so confident after what happened in November? |
Also weigh the cost to female athletes of the current policy. |
To be fair there was a video of a dad whose daughter was raped by a boy in a dress and then getting dragged out of the school board meeting for complaining about his daughter being raped by a boy in a dress. It didn't help that the karens were all accusing him of lying about his daughter getting raped in the bathroom by a boy in a dress. Then it turned out that the board was informed but they were so busy passing rules to treat boys in dresses as if they were real girls that they never got a chance to read the email. I don't see how they could possibly do anything that stupid again this year. There's like less than a 43.7% chance of them doing something that stupid again. |
Because everybody around them agrees with them. |
This election, where the governor's race is held on a off year, will be more like the prior virginia governor election than like this past election. In a non presidential rate, voters tend to favor against the presidential party to give balance to the system. Given the Republican hold all three branches of Federal government and the top three positions (governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general) in the state, the tendency will be stronger than normal. Also factor in the negative effects of the DOGE Federal spending cuts in Virginia, particular Northern Virginia, the most populous part of the state. Also factor that Virginia is a blue leaning purple state. Also factor that Republican gubernatorial candidate Winsome Earle-Sears is not running a great campaign and the down ballot effects when the office at the top of the ticket performs poorly. Also factor the horrific job that Trump is doing. Admittedly this bullet point has an ideological bias. The big beautiful bill is/was extremely unpopular. The economy, in my opinion, is in a horrible position with the slowing job market and still rising inflation. Lastly, as much as some would like to blame Democrats woke leanings as the biggest contributor to the November election, I think inflation caused by the global supply chain from covid and Biden's cognitive decline were bigger factors. Inflation is now on Trump's responsibility. Biden's cognitive decline is no longer an issue with Biden out of office. |
