How long till the economy collapses?

Bro- people in the U.S. are more miserable, lonelier and actually RICHER now. No one is saying we should be going back to the early- mid 20th century working conditions.

There are lots of studies that show that people who help others are happier in their jobs (and I hope in their lives). https://www.forbes.com/sites/tracybrower/2023/11/26/30-careers-with-the-most-satisfaction/

Both political parties are bereft of creativity in what our society can be- it’s going to be to regular people becoming more active in local community groups and regional governments to create the thriving society that I hope all would want.

Hope all have a chance to get outside and help people today - take care all.

Everyone in health care is miserable. Insurance companies and private equity have ruined it. But, sure…

We will have to see where crypto goes this month and also RE in this spring market (an not only in DC metro). Markets are likely going to be dependent on consumer confidence, but overall money supply and forms of money is what I am concerned in trying to understand. Crypto bros pump and dump, but where do they invest their proceeds they have to convert to US dollars? Movement of money is important to understand.

You can fudge gdp all they want. If companies are laying people off and earnings are down the economy isn’t going to look good

I don’t think that you can just make up your own GDP figures. The private sector uses these numbers for lots of things, and they won’t want to use meaningless numbers from hacks.

Well, they elected hacks. So the private sector may have to figure out how to generate their own numbers.

Ha ha ha yeah right like they care about consistency and governance We will be in a full recession by August, and they will be lying about it every day

Don’t bother. You’re talking to stupid people who still believe in “job creators” and “trickle down economics.”

I mean what's Trump going to do, force Target to fudge their quarterly earnings report?

Yeah, probably. But the methodology for calculating gdp is an international standard. It will be obvious to everyone if they start to fiddle them. Not that that will stop them.

No, you had to use the bureaucratic state to push left-wing ideology on the country in ways that were unquestionably illegal. Remember when you guys got military members fired for not taking the vaccine? (“No one elected Elon!” Interesting, now what about Fauci?)

So I don’t really care that you’re going to have to sell your Arlington home and go back to whatever LCOL town you’re originally from and try to start a new career at age 51. Sorry, not sorry.

We get it. You’re an imbecile. No need to double down.

We've stopped funding cancer research.

We are deporting our agricultural workers.

We are ignoring environmental catastrophe and getting rid of NOAA and FEMA.

We are alienating our allies.

All of these things have consequences. Life has been hard for all of humanity until the last 100 years and we have chosen to go back in time.

So tell me where you would cut $2 Trillion from? How do you suggest we get to a good budget situation? I don’t think you realize that we can’t continue on this trajectory.

First, I would follow the law.

Thank you.

For example, I don't have a problem with getting rid of the penny. I do however have a major problem with doing so via a toilet seat tweet by the President.

The penny is minted in a small county in Tennessee. They are begging Trump to reconsider because the loss would financially cripple the county. The county voted overwhelmingly for Trump. https://www.newsweek.com/end-pennies-may-cost-jobs-trump-supporting-county-2029309

Oh no! I didn’t think the Leopard Face Eating party would eat MY face!

Incorrect. The MAGA people in my feed are actually reminiscing fondly and posting videos/links to books about how awesome the economy was back under Andrew Jackson and how all we have to do to get back to that Golden Age is let Trump eliminate federal taxes and levy enormous tariffs. Guess they all think they’re going to be the robber barons and not the thousands crushed to death in their mines, factories, and mills, or shot by Pinkertons.
