The hyperbole and hysteria are curious. Government waste, fraud and abuse are funded and tied to many, if not most of these jobs. Perfect time for Entrepreneurs.

They already are. That’s why he had to campaign pretending like he’d never heard of Project 2025. Then went full steam ahead when elected, as predicted with anyone with a functioning brain cell. (Much like last time he had to pretend like he’d never heard of the Proud Boys.)

By the way he himself doesn’t actually have any policies. He has little interest beyond sitting on a throne like a boy-king, it’s the people around him who have policies. Frankly, that’s good given his predilection for running casinos into the ground and filing for bankruptcy what was it? 5 times? The scary part is that this time the strings are being pulled by a wacko who would be happy to let it all burn so he can pick it up for pennies on the dollar.

I appreciate a good analogy. But your horse and buggy one doesn’t fly. The horse and buggy operators weren’t all terminated or obsolete all at the same time. There was time for them to realize that they may need to look for a new job or a new way to make a living for their families. Flat out firing then of thousands of people all at once will not help the economy. The repercussions will take decades to repair.

+1 none of this is to help the other 339 million. And a lot of it (like closing CFPB) will actively hurt them.

Do they really believe somehow this will lower their taxes and grocery prices?

It was enough to win the popular vote, albeit narrowly. Most people are not politically savvy. They don’t understand the economic fall out of these choices. They don’t think about cutting cancer research. The quicker the damage the better the hope of limiting it.

This hyperbole is really unhinged. Obama issued EOs that exceeded his authority and were blocked by courts. Biden did the same (ex. student loan forgiveness). This is not at all an uncommon practice and does not equal a Constitutional crisis. The courts will either uphold the EOs or block them. Our democracy won’t fall apart and the left loses credibility by claiming this.

The executive branch has the right to reorganize, so to the extent this is a reorganization rather than a complete shuttering, it’s perfectly legal. Also, almost every former president has at one point delayed disbursements of appropriated funds. Do some research- Biden did this very thing.

Because congress is absolutely worthless and they can’t legislate. I am absolutely furious that because of them we are in this situation. The goal of Trump has been stated, to remove $2 Trillion from our spending. To have our debt 3% of GDP. Paying down our debt will have a massive positive impact. Will it be easy? No, but we must get our fiscal house in order.

One pretty important difference is that Biden and Obama complied with the court decisions. Trump is violating them.

Because Congress is incentivized to stay in power which means doling out funds and special pork projects for their constituents.
