It will take time for anything to collapse. Cannot just pull the rug and everything is down in 3 months. Then it was shaky in the first place. Maybe six months, maybe an year. Then, we will start seeing more structural problems that will need years to fix. Take EPA removing rules for pollution. Poisoned water and air will take some time to affect the populace in a negative way - more sick, more $$ for health expenditure, etc. Some of the ACA funding expires end of year, so ACA health insurance goes up in 2026 if they don't do anything. If there are any tariffs they will take a couple of months for the current inventories to switch. Deportations - I have no idea where these stand, but imagine removing %% of the labor force. EU countries are starting to reconsider their spending on US weapons - these will be real big ticket items, so effects probably within a year. Etc. etc. It is a slow process, BUT it is being set in motion. Now, if enough people suddenly stop spending, and/or pull out 401K balances, we can have something in the matter of weeks due to sudden decrease in money velocity. Also, so far we have had 0 new international problems. Another conflict - Taiwan, or something like Oct. 7. may speed up overall collapse as it exposes weakness and strains the system. In the end, we are in wait and see mode now.
