Maybe because when I was in school in 1975 they were telling us about the coming Ice Age by 1980.....

The climate changes, to think that we caused it is foolish. I have no issue with it, but the fear mongering over it is comical

This is another place where I think it's about who deserves empathy. American citizens are struggling. It's not clear to me why my local mechanic has a lifelong obligation to send money to the people of Sudan, simply because he's American. We've sent a ton of money to these countries over the years, and nothing changes. They don't improve. Maybe our money isn't the answer for them. But, it is often the answer for the working households earning the money.

I don't know o agree with his blanket EO of full stop in everything but I will say this about the above article/comment as a non GOP and anti Trump person -

There is NO shortage of suffering in this world just about everywhere. None. I'm sympathetic to that org turning people needing help away but it happens every single minute of every day everywhere. That's not how you judge empathy. You have to give so that you can keep giving. You cannot as we have done continuously give, federal debt be in billions, get nothing in return for these gifts (in the sense that we are giving like we're the Church which we are not), and ignore those suffering in our backyard. Where's you empathy for the homeless here? Where's your empathy for kids who live in poverty here? Where do you draw the line to determine who you help? It's a really hard question but we can't not ask that question or we will end up not being able to help anyone.
