WTF happened with Kamala's 1989 zip up track suit from Filene's basement sales rack? She was the least dressed. How lazy!!!! God Riddance!!!
Poor Kamala and her zipper outfit looked frumpy and sad. Very poor choice for a crowd and a photo op. She needs the stylist.

I can't imagine what she was thinking when she put that on today. Im no runway model but that outfit is a head scratcher.

I think she was trying to be low-key and not make a statement. It was appropriate.

I disagree. It was very lazy and unprofessional at best.

It is a black pantsuit with pumps and pearls. I think she is also wearing an American flag pin. It isn't unprofessional. She is the outgoing VP. She can wear a dark pantsuit.

That was not a pantsuit it was a sweat suit. Ugh.

Can you really blame her for not putting on a fashion forward outfit? This is essentially a day of mourning for her.

I am chiming back in to say that I really feel she wanted to be "all business" and get the job done. Nobody is picking on any of the men's suiting. She looked just fine and she even threw on a neutral but patterned scarf with her black overcoat. What do people really expect from her here?

She's not representing the country today. Today she is a private citizen.

I'm personally not a fan of a zipper detail for this occasion, but I think it was a half-veiled finger to the event anyway. But I would have thought the same if it were someone else wearing it, too. At least it was fitted, and her outerwear was perfect.

I am totally giving a pass to UVance's helmet hair. She has fine hair with flyaways and layers, and they were outside. This was not a matter of "you can do better." And I'm delighted to see natural grays in any woman on the national stage -- they are their own sort of beauty. I just really want to get her set up with someone who can get the proper fit on her.

I am not. And to be clear, I am not blaming her. I am blaming the hairstylist.

A talented hairstylist could do a chignon and get it to stay in place without that much gel. I understand using a little to hold flyaways in place but they basically poured an entire bottle over her head. Insane.

I love how she wore the same shade of eyeliner and mascara as her husband. Feels a lot more fresh and modern than matching your dress with your husband's tie.

Agreed. A nice homage to the queer community they hate.

Until Vance was sworn in she was the VP and absolutely representing the country. Typical that she's bitter and can't be bothered.

I mean, I would be. It certainly doesn't make for good fashion.

That being said, it fit.

Oh come on. This HAS to be Usha's mom or sister lol.

I notice that one of the gang went through a whole list of what she was not (including Indian American), but did not say the simple "I've never met her" or "I don't even know her." It's interesting.

I’m sorry is that what we have to do with every post to show our bona fides? I’ve never met her and I don’t even know her. But I still think there is a decent chance she ends up as First Lady. And I’m a registered Democrat. And I assume, with time, her fashion will improve.

I voted for her and agree, until noon she was still the VP. I don't know that it was bitterness, maybe just sadness. I get it but I also think like, it would've looked cooler to wear something badass (although GOP would've whined about that too).

When Hillary lost she wore that really cool white suit to Inauguration. I really liked that.

Cool cool cool.

She still needs a tailor.

Anonymous wrote:Her pink coat today. I agree with others that her coats do not look tailored and look oversized. Compare to Melania's coat which is clearly impeccably tailored (though also made of a thinner fabric so easier to get a fitted look). I think the pink color is flattering and appropriate and I like the earrings. However they are also oversized and her gloves also look oversized, and then the boots are heavy and wide. The attached scarf looks messy in the way is knotted -- that's how you knot/fold a scarf to walk to the metro on your way to work. It makes the whole thing look like it's hanging off her -- it's wearing her instead of her wearing it.

Nothing special and an odd choice given the indoor setting. I love the color though. JD looks like a schoolboy playing dress up.

I will defend her on the coat in the indoor setting. It's custom ODLR, a lot of money and time was spent on that and I imagine the dress underneath that matches (I can see it in that pic where she's walking and the coat splits open a little) is probably pretty simple. She was preparing to be outside and I guess had to stick with it, same as Melania.

Did Ivanka and her daughter ditch her coat? Seems like a lot of money to ditch the coat when the venue changed.

Usha in the pink get-up with that hair today and Ivanka in her green costume could just about pass as wives from the Handmaid’s Tale. Both are beautiful and seemingly highly intelligent as well as reportedly warm and genuinely personable, but the men they’re standing behind and the values they uphold just overshadow all.

But Usha’s pink coat with those gorgeous boots was 100% the best of her weekend.

Ivanka's outfit looked like a top and skirt in really heavy wool material and her daughter was wearing a cape which I didn't see if she ditched or not.

NP - I thought Usha looked very pretty and distinguished during the ceremony. The color was very flattering. I can see in the outdoor pics that the coat was kind of bulky, but that is not the visual that came through in the TV shots of the swearing in. Personally I'm not a fan of the boots, but like the PP I assume she didn't have time to come up with a new look in the 48 hours since they moved the ceremony indoors. I'm a Democrat and I think JD is dangerous, but I'm not prepared to hate on his wife or her wardrobe simply because she married a guy with some huge issues.
