These teams played top 20 players for 3 quarters?

No they didn't, but PVI looked very strong and took it to Bullis, who looked overmatched at times. When all starters were playing it was tied. I think PVI may very well win the WCAC, looking this good so early. Very good coaching and hugely talented. It will come down to them and STJ.

PVI looked lost and running for cover. PVI didn't take anything to Bullis. It was close but not because PVI was dominating Bullis. Bullis played awful and after 3 quarters it was 11-6, after 4 it was 13-7. It was a physical game and PVI ran out of steam. PVI coaching is suspect but the talent is there if they play together. I think it comes down to the same 4 in the WCAC GC, GZ, SJC and PVI.
When has that ever been the top 4?

Well, for starters, last season

Why did you provide a link that shows overall records? That's not conference play.
PVI finished 5th, and didn't beat any of the top 4. And then Dematha beat them again in the 4-5 game.

So when has that ever been the top 4 in the last 5-6 years?

What's your issue, Dematha not getting enough love here? They're a great team and fine bunch of boys. Happy now?
I'm not the one that pointed out that particular year? What else would you have me reply on that one?

You stated that it would come down to the same 4. That same 4 doesn't ever finish top 4, not anytime recently. You could just say I misspoke, but those are my favorites this year. See how easy that is?

Slightly off here:

PVI solid in first (tied) quarter.
Buillis won second quarter 5-1 and I believe both sides had their starters in.
Bullis underclassmen won rest of game.

I’ll add some further insight.

Landon was playing without 3 - 4 starters against McDonogh (Penn defender, W&L defender, Navy M/A). Not to mention 6 hockey players haven’t event began practicing with the team yet (they won the MD private school state championship the night before)

McDonogh was uncharacteristic very sloppy between the lines, they struggled to clear the ball. Their backup goalie also didn’t have his best performance. Millón is the real deal though, he will carry them this spring.

Overall, Bears have more depth than I was anticipating this year. They also controlled the face-off X.

Take what it was, it was just a scrimmage.

From what I hear both teams were missing multiple starters due to injuries, other sports, etc... and you are 100% accurate - it was just a SCRIMMAGE.

Landon will be a tough out this year.

What’s that? Ah - Scrimmages? Don’t talk about - scrimmages! You kidding me? Scrimmages? Lets just wait and talk about real games!

Do you think Ivys/Patriot League bring in more athletic money than the BIG and ACC?

Poor attempt at satire and shows a lack of everything. The 5 or so pretty good schools SJC has placed lax guys in since 2021 is less than half of what Gonzaga has placed in equal to or higher schools over the same time period. GZ and SJC have placed about the same amount of players in d1 since 2021 but GZ's quality of school placement is way higher.

It doesn't matter who brings in more money, other high schools are placing the same amount or more of their players into those schools than SJC. Outside of the outlier year of 2022, it wouldn't be close.

that could be because the student half of the student-athletes at those 2 schools aren’t really comparable.

Is the DMVlax 1st team, 2nd teams, etc, rankings any good? Not sure how madlax owner is able to put a credible list together. No way this guy has seen everyone play. He has an agenda - picking favorites and boosting madlax.

Anyone putting a list like together will have at least some biases. You may not like the guy but CM is as knowledgeable as anyone about all the HS programs and players around here, through his club program (his own guys and also the guys the play against) and he also is announcer for 1st Amendment sports and covers a lot of the local HS games.

So it's never going to be a perfect list but it's not worthless either.

Whatever you think of CM, his DMVlax analysis is actually pretty good most of the time. I don’t agree with everything he says for my son’s team, but his knowledge of the landscape for different teams is pretty impressive.

Definitely Madlax bias.

It's not coincidental that Episcopal is getting a little more shine this year and Landon is getting less.
