| Landon looked strong against McDonogh in the 1st half. When the starters were in it was Landon up 8-1. McDonogh did not play their starting goalie. The backups went in favor of McDonogh. They looked deeper. |
This comment is repeated every year right about this time when a large number of upperclassmen (who’ve been playing club lax get for years) get cut when they don’t make varsity. Most often at Gonzaga. Makes good sense. Go to a good school where you can still be an athlete and play a sport you love. Havent seen it happen near enough as it should |
LMAO - more proof that the IAC has been practicing way before the official start time. |
| Who do you guys think are gonna win the liberty distrct? Langley, Yorktown, McLean, or Herndon. Many of those teams have talented players returning. |
Are the rosters on IL or max preps? |
I’ll add some further insight. Landon was playing without 3 - 4 starters against McDonogh (Penn defender, W&L defender, Navy M/A). Not to mention 6 hockey players haven’t event began practicing with the team yet (they won the MD private school state championship the night before) McDonogh was uncharacteristic very sloppy between the lines, they struggled to clear the ball. Their backup goalie also didn’t have his best performance. Millón is the real deal though, he will carry them this spring. Overall, Bears have more depth than I was anticipating this year. They also controlled the face-off X. Take what it was, it was just a scrimmage. |
I’m not sure, might be on both. Langley this year might have the potential. Even though they have lost tons of seniors last year based on their offense. Their defense is the same as last year and looks really strong. Yorktown has graduated most of its started last class and so did McLean. It will be a very good one this year |
| Love the scrimmage updates. |
Of which teams? |
When has that ever been the top 4? |
Well, for starters, last season https://www.insidelacrosse.com/recruiting/highschool/conference/MILL-MAC-WCAC/13/24 |
Why did you provide a link that shows overall records? That's not conference play. PVI finished 5th, and didn't beat any of the top 4. And then Dematha beat them again in the 4-5 game. So when has that ever been the top 4 in the last 5-6 years? |
If all four teams stay healthy and play to their potential based on what the returning players showed last year, the order would be Langley, McLean, Yorktown, Herndon. W&L would be in the running to finish fourth and maybe third. But what makes public school lacrosse interesting is that all of these teams rely on a small number of strong players to carry them, so if just a couple of players over-perform or under-preform, of if teams pick up some difference-makers in the form of freshman or private school transfers, the order could change easily. |
What's your issue, Dematha not getting enough love here? They're a great team and fine bunch of boys. Happy now? |
| Based on early scrimmage results, Bullis has looked very impressive. |
