Just stay at Xfield for LLIV. It’s underenrolled and Navy very much is not.

Although Navy leadership might be an improvement

What do you mean under enrolled? My friends with older kids complain about how large their class sizes are? 6th grade has one glass with 28 kids!

Crossfield is underenrolled and Navy is not.

Crossfield has about 567 kids, and Navy has around 900. Navy grade has like 6 classes while crossfield has about 3. For example for 3rd grade, Crossfield has 1 AAP class and 2 Gen Ed, and Navy has 2 AAP class and 4 gen ed classes. But somehow Navy lunch is 45 min and Crossfield 20 min.

Lunch at Navy is 30 minutes.

30 minute lunches is standard in FCPS

No. Posting on DCUM won't solve anything. If you're a parent experiencing issues, then you know what they are. If you're not experiencing issues, then be glad. Let the interim principal handle the issues. She has stepped into situations like this before.

+100 No teacher is getting paid enough to be trashed here on DCUM by some anonymous gossips. Take your concerns to the interim principal.

Then why did PP state there are MAJOR issues? Why do that to begin with?

Am assuming it was in response to this comment "I haven’t heard any complaints since they figured out the long term sub situation in 6th, honestly. I think most everyone else is happy."

Wow, dramatic much?

There is nothing unusual about 28 + kids in an fcps 6th gr class. Many have 30 or more.

Dunno, but they're finally bringing FCPS school police in to deal with the kiss and ride issues starting today.

Really, how so? Any details? The line was atrociously slow this morning.

They described it as “school security” vs actual police. And I didn’t see any such thing and was there this am. I did notice they refused to open the doors to students at 10:20 am, which I thought was a d*ck move. The email said doors would be open at 10:25 am l, but they relented and allowed students in at 10:23 am. As a result, yes, the kiss n’ ride line was backed up so far like I’ve never seen it. Also, some of the problem is that parents wait until they are close to the doors to drop off instead of starting at the top of the hill in the kids b ride line. And then of course you have the idiots who go into the parking lot in the wrong lane, and who try to take a left into the kiss n ride line from Thompson. Have yet to even see the interim principal so no idea if they are aware of this. But if they want the line to go faster they need to have parents let their kids out further away from the doors at the top of the hill.

I'm not a Navy teacher, but I can just say that anonymous bashing of staff at certain grade levels has NEVER improved morale or made people want to work at a school. No good teacher will want to transfer to Navy if they see the anonymous staff bashing. Just stop.
