NvA Girls ECNL

It’s the players fault not coaching. Coaches don’t play the game.

Former coach played former team this past weekend...

My DD plays for another age group at NVA, and I know the 2009s have dealt with injuries this year. Not all can be blamed on PL but I think they are underachieving compared to the talent level on the team. They also probably overachieved last year.

All teams deal with injuries, not just NVA. Can place most, if not all, the blame on bad coaching.

What’s the coaching problem? Tactics? Training? Game management?

RP and PL have been around NVA & Loudoun for a long time. Hard to imagine it’s them.

Weren't the 07s the first U15 team to ever make the ECNL playoffs since they have been at NVA/Loudoun? Now 09s AND 08s might not make the playoffs. 07/06 are completely out this year. Not sure if any team ever made it out of group play in playoffs. Lost many players this year to VDA. If I had to place any blame, it would probably be more on Club tactics than anything else. I have not seen many teams over the years get away from the Counter Attack tactic (what you all love to call kickball). At the same time, ask who chooses the tactics. Works well at younger ages but after players mature, unless you have an absolute freak of nature, is not as effective at U16 and up.

At the same time, most clubs go through ups and downs. Onion(McLean) and Bethesda used to be our areas powerhouses. Both only had two teams go to Playoffs last year. Arlington only had one team last year but may get as many as 4 teams this year. Still a couple weeks to go.

They do have a lot of injuries and if your better players are injured, it's hard for subs to make up the difference. Also, the Richmond 09 team is one of the strongest in the area. They have size but also move the ball really well.

The 09 VDA team isn't that great and that's because the existing girls haven't really changed the way they play. They still can't pass the ball accurately.

2 players from NVA went to VDA. Both 08.

they need more women in the rankings. Gonna be an exodus next spring and a restart if things don’t turn around. Would hate to see a coach have to rebuild w new teams from scratch

VDA passed the ball accurately enough to win by four goals a few weeks ago

What exactly have they achieved in terms of development? They’ve been in NVA/LS for a decade or more.

With 2 UVA commits, a Duke commit, and many others, shouldn't NVA be able to win a game at Bethesda cup?

To be fair Bethesda did not have the second best record in all of ECNL last year and were almost in dead last place in their division.

Reading did not make USYS and PPA Green did make it.

Also to be fair to NVA, none of the ECNL teams are playing to win in older age groups. All USYS and GA teams care about is winning over ECNL teams even if it’s a scrimmage on tennis court. NVA 09s are full of injuries.

Fairfax beat Reading yesterday on the last play of the game 1-0. Our bench split time with the starters.

Sorry, but many of you parents are reaching for straws and have no idea what really goes on. So much disinformation.

Soccer Rankings App is your friend. Literally NVA, Reading RL and Fairfax are all ranked below 0.5 goals of each other in head to head matchups. Bethesda was also favored to lose to PPA and Coppermine by a little less than a goal. So the App pretty much hit every game. This includes Syracuse GA who was favored to lose every game by one goal.

Please stop your useless bashing of NVA.

Your excuses are pathetic. NVA was atop the champions league standings for almost the entire season last year and now they're losing to ECRL2 teams
