He sounds amazing.

Weird comment! Why is this 12yo more ‘amazing’ than another 12yo DS who wants something like sneakers or dice for D&D?

I rolled my eyes at that “he’s amazing!” comment too.

They’re ALL amazing! So, please, more gift ideas, lol. Seriously, girl age 15-17 especially. Please and thank you.

Yes they are! There’s no need to make nasty comments because someone said something nice about another kid.

Does your DD have a favorite animal? You could “adopt” one through the WWF. They send you a plushie and a certificate.

Thank you.

One presumes other kids, no? Are your kids homeschooled?

-parent of kids who don’t really care about brand names, but can’t imagine needing to ask this question

Why is he more amazing than the tween that asks for sneakers or D&D stuff? I need to explain this? One kid has unusual, mature and impecable taste. The other is just run of the mill and basic. I like creative types. You like basic. That’s okay, too.

Wow, really? You're judging a 12yo as basic because they don't want a Sodastream and a chandelier? That's just ridiculous.

I mean, you can't even spell impeccable, so I'll take your mean-spirited comment with a grain of salt.

Your defensiveness is really weird. DP.

Here’s that attention you ordered.

Well it’s a teen and tween thread, they like more expensive things and not Barbies anymore. You belong on the elementary forum for toy ideas.

I think you're missing the point. It was about price, not age or toys vs. beauty. My point is that I'm not buying my kids a $150 toy and will not be buying them $25 name brand lip masks when they ask for that.

Cool story. Here’s your sticker.

So what ARE you buying your 8 year old, and do you really think that is still what you will be buying her when she is 16?

so many defensive people here, LOL!!!!

Honey, no one gives a damn that you’re cheap with your kids at Christmas. Promise. It’s just hilarious that you felt the need to post a reply that contributed nothing except for you to be baselessly smug.

20 oz is a bit small. My DD requested the 30oz.

20 ounces holds the quantity of the small individual bottled sodas you can buy at a gas station. Agree with 30.

Someone is in for a disappointing xmas morning

Maybe some riding lessons? Volunteer to foster kittens or volunteer at a shelter to help with cats and kittens?

Yeah she gets all that - horseback riding lessons, camp in the summer. We visited a cat cafe last week. She wants the next step in cat and horse ownership

Kittens are really cute, PP. Just sayin'.

They also become cats and can live for 18-20 years. Just sayin.’

(just kidding — we have a cat and he’s kind of awesome)

DD12 is getting laneige lip mask, skin care stuff, platform air forces, another Kendra Scott necklace because of the cyber Monday sale and a bunch of stuff for her sport. But I guarantee that the thing she will be happiest about is that I finally was able to find a replacement for her beloved stuffed animal that got ruined 2 yrs ago.

To all the judgey people saying they would never buy lip mask or a Stanley if your kid was asking for it and you can afford it - why? Were you not a tween/teen at one time, just wanting to be cool and fit in? It’s totally normal at that age to care more about what your peers think and honestly if a water cup makes middle school years better for my kid I’m more than happy to give it to her.

I always get a few things from this list every year. There are more specific links at the end of the article too: https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/holidays/gift-ideas/g434/gifts-for-teens/#product-4191f5af-b0a9-4609-93fc-60de5d953369

This year I am getting the hidden pocket scrunchies and the power bank for iphones for DD and the phone screen magnifier for DS.

Still easier than a horse!

Or train case/makeup box? Or light up make up mirror? Both my 16 and 13yo DDs have gotten these in the past and love them
