Pro Israel demonstration in DC?

Anonymous
The protesters are staying away from subjects that they should talk about, like excessive suffering in Gaza and the dismantling of settlements in the West Bank

Leave that to the pro-Hamas protests.
This is about remembrance for those lost on 10/7, a cry to have hostages released, a call to halt the proliferation of antisemitism, and a reminder that Israel has a right to exist.

That being said..... one of the student speakers early on did talk about the suffering of ALL involved in this conflict.
That is more than I can say for the pro-Hamas protests we have seen.

They seem to care only about the suffering of their people

Why was a state department briefing scheduled against this?

I am sure they are NOT discussing the continued high prices of goods and services.
Or the fact that inflation is still higher than when Biden took office.

If protesting for innocent Palestinians is pro Hamas, then what should we name this rally for Israel? Should we call it the pro genocide rally, pro Netanyahu rally or graveyard for the children rally? Take your pick because all 3 apply.

I believe it is a rally supporting Israel, to fight against anti-Semitism, and also a call to release the hostages.

It is a rally to call for the ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Palestinians people. And because they get $300B to do it, I guess they're pretty comfortable in their request.

No.
It’s a call to support Israel and to support Jews who can hold two things in their heads and hearts at once: Desire for Israelis to live in peace and security (and Jews there and elsewhere not to be exterminated as Hamas and their supporters would like) and an end to violence which also means an end to bombings in Gaza, humanitarian aid to people in Gaza, and return of hostages.

Many who I know attending want bombing to end, peace for Palestinians, statehood for Palestinians, peace for Israelis, they are critics of the Netanyahu government.

If you don’t want pro-Palestinians painted as terrorist loving Jew haters then don’t stereotype those attending a pro-Israel march.

I watched it live for some time and they are not calling for peace or a ceasefire. The tone is very nationalistic

I have watched for a while.
Mostly students speaking up to this point. They express pride in their Judaism. They are also speaking to the antisemitism they have suffered.
I have heard at least 3 speakers talk about the hostages and how they need to be released.
Make that 4 speakers. Another one just spoke about it.

So tone deaf for the wealthy college kids to talk about their suffering when Gazan children have literally had their body parts blown off in strikes. Entire families disintegrated. But we're getting tears from students re: how hard it was to watch protests calling for peace. Disgusting

Your post is a great example of why Netanyahu may not be that concerned that his policies have strengthened and will strengthen Hamas even more. Hamas is not a partner for peace but a bigoted Islamist terrorist organization. The existence of hamas allows people like you to gloss over Israel’s policies toward the palestinians and conveniently label any protest against the settlement enterprise in the WB, the policies against the Arab population in Israel and a war in Gaza done essentially by bombing and shelling a high density populated area that was deprived not only of electricity but of food and drinking water as a pro hamas protest. How convenient. At least Israel’s supporters today could exercise their right to march and protest in the open today without any threat to be fired from the jobs, as can happen to whoever does not toe the Likud’s line

So, we are seeing posters saying “Let Israel finish the job” and Thank you IDF, if not you then who”…. Talk about cheering for a genocide but hey they just want to live in peace, of course they will kill millions for that but you are anti semitic if you say so.

Yes but many of the speakers at the events are CNN middle east and political “experts”. Talk about built in bias.

Look at the quarterly profits of the big retailers and companies like Proctor and Gamble, Exxon etc. THAT is your inflation.

From the Washington Post:

Others brandished homemade signs declaring, “Make Gaza Flat Again.”

Well, that's definitely a call for peace.
