Don't know. It would be very surprising if he wasn't placed on a leave of absence at a minimum. |
Husband is/was FBI, Christine was a nurse. Seems like lifestyle would be a stretch on one income. Don't think he came from $, not sure about her. Even on fed/nurse income seems a bit of a stretch, but little girl started school this year so childcare costs almost over. Not especially well off for this area, middle class. AP may have worked best for child care due to shift work. |
LE said from day 1 both were involved. Some wanted to see her as a naive young girl innocent of involvement, bc would be true for many, and, well, it beats these 2 shark eyed people. |
Especially when 1 salary is dropped. I'm guessing he had life insurance on her too. Layers of plotting. |

“According to a police statement obtained by PEOPLE, Christine Banfield's husband then got on the phone and said he had shot a man and stabbed a woman. But at the time, police didn't make any arrests.” Could this be a careless typo? |
The authorities must have had some background info on the au pair. Presumably, she went through a background check with the agency, but also with the fbi since she was sharing a residence with an agent. I remember I had a roommate who was working for the DOE and the fbi came to interview me.

Seems like a typo of such great significance that it would have been caught. I guess it could have been “shot a man who stabbed a woman”. That would fit with the statements in other articles. |
This has gone too far when people are conjecturing about how they afford their lifestyle. FYI - Tesla's can cost less than a Jeep. |
How could they stop her? Maybe the agency cut ties and the police told her not to leave the country. |
On the one hand if she keeps singing that song to herself, she's not flipping. On the other hand, she had to be in it at least partly for $ and the big house, etc., if it seems like that is crumbling and she doesn't want to spend her youth in a cell, maybe she will flip. And maybe they will have enough from forensics and electronics. |
Stop it with the nanny language police. And you make no sense. "Teslas can cost less than a Jeep." Uh, ok, and both still are a financial stretch for a fed, a nurse and a family with expensive in home childcare. Never mind when ONE EARNER IS NOW DEAD, cutting income significantly. I think it "went too far" when BB and au pair started swanning around like "the last of the real ones" IRL in public and on socials, not to mention it was WAY TOO FAR when 2 human beings were MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD, but that's just me. Gossip about the neighbor's stuff and what it costs? It's called keeping up with the Joneses! |
This is probably correct, but, good catch. If he said that, Freudian slip. |
But if this was the plan, *he* would have shot her. It legit does not make sense for BB & AP to have conspired to intentionally have events unfold as they did. BB shooting JR would have been 100x less suspicious than AP shooting JR and BB claiming to have done it when he was literally not in the house at the time. Even if BB erroneously thinks he's the smartest guy in the room, he's an FBI agent and there is zero chance that was his intentional plan. Adding a layer of lies for no reason would never make sense. Either AP really did this w/o BB's prior involvement (maybe he set her off intentionally even, but he didn't know how/when it was going to go down) or something went wrong with their original plan that we're not aware of yet. |
can't find it in the search but who the heck was joseph ryan??? the boyfriend of christine? what was he doing there? and multiple gunshot wounds? why was he hated so much by the au pair? |
There are lots of people in this area in the older Millennial- younger Gen X demographic who are getting support from parents. The parents aren’t necessarily rich either. Just solidly middle class and originally from low cost of living areas. Usually they pay for day care, or a generous down payment on a house, that enables the kids to live a little beyond their usual means. |
