This is a nightmare

I’m shocked. Thomas and Alito were ready to burn it all down though.

Conservative here - I’m not. It’s a state decision.

Thomas has some gall - with the Grand Canyon sized gaps in his ethics - being prepared to wrestle medical and scientific authority and 23 years of safe use of drug on advice of extremist Trump appointed judge from Texas.

He really has no concern that he looks like not only a corrupt old fool but one with no concern for appearances, let alone function.

It’s pretty clear what the goal is - leftists want to overturn the SC balance through smears.

Ehhh it's no smear when it's TRUE, hun.

This deserves to go in the Fist Bump thread. This is corruption.

7-2, entire TX order stayed. Fully legal, including by mail, anywhere abortion is legal.

Thomas and Alito were the two. Because of course they were.

Stayed for now.

I mean, speaking as a lawyer, the district court decision was just bananas. It would be hugely problematic for the Supreme Court to allow any of it to stand.

Nah. No smears are needed when SC justices, like Thomas, are blatantly corrupt.

Breyer came out with a statement saying that Thomas is a man of integrity.

Nah. No smears are needed when SC justices, like Thomas, are blatantly corrupt.

Alito is not a man who is used to debating. We’re not all members of the Federalist Society fawning over how “smart” he is, or members of the oligarchy trying to buy him off. Some of us are just calling it like it is - he’s a hack, end of story. Shame he is out there pretending to be a martyr for some holy cause instead of acknowledging that he has earned his reputation. The Bar isn’t going to defend him because there is nothing to defend. All we have is the rule of law, and Alito is a direct threat to that.

Why should I defend an unelected religious wacko who was put in place by a man installed by the Supreme Court? Alito somehow doesn’t understand that his intellect is thin and wispy, a mere slip of smoke. He’s not a lion, he’s a scrawny kitten. And a religious freak who wants to live in a theocracy.

Arguments were today. Fifth Circuit is conservative but this is still disappointing.

As I’ve been saying: women aren’t people in the GOP.

They will ban it. There has never been any question about it.

Well then, there goes abortion in the US, just like Poland. Will be interesting to see if women shrug their shoulders on this one.

I don’t understand how or why this is even happening. But I am not kidding that I have had it with this crap. I am all in on shipping my 2024 HS grad to Canada and then figuring out how to follow her with her much younger sister

That's the 5th. It will then go to SCOTUS. I think there's a 50/50 chance at SCOTUS.
