I mean, there’s a lot of medications with side effects a lot more severe than mifepristone.

Republicans are hurtling towards anarchy.

Nothing. I would love to see planed parenthood take the same complaint, insert the word viagra and file it

This would actually be great - yank a ton of drugs off the market and force the pharma companies to bring down the hammer.

This country is circling the drain so fast, it’s breathtaking.

Where are they gonna find a judge that has a religious hang-up about getting a boner?

The fascist playbook is to exhaust its citizens With an onslaught of horribleness.

If you are DOJ, perhaps you just don't appeal the Washington order. Just too bad, you are bound by it and can't comply with the Texas judge's contrary ruling (or any future order from the fifth circuit).

We used to understand that we had certain rights as an AMERICAN -- and that those basic rights were ours regardless of where we lived or traveled in the U.S. That is no longer the case -- it's like my country has shrunk down to "my state." I am losing my sense of belonging to "the United States."

We've been losing it since Newt was Speaker.

It is long gone.

Congrats, Cons. You've just lost the 2024 election.

If they had kept up the states rights mirage, they might have kept this issue from bleeding into federal elections. Not going to happen now. It will be an issue in every presidential, senate, and house race for the foreseeable future.

And because what remains of the GOP establishment has literally zero control over their base, even if they tried to coalesce over a 'sensible' compromise, there were always be some far right state promoting extreme measures.

Doesn’t have to be religious. How about any judge that wants to fight back against this.

FFS

Yes, they can. Sad that there are presidents who would appoint someone who would do this, much less a senate that would approve someone who would do this.

Voting matters. A lot.

+1

I’ll repeat myself. There are no decent elected Republicans. Not one. They may not have known which of the rubber stamps they voted yes for would be the live grenade, but they knew that there would be several live grenades and they were o-effing-kay with it.

What’s really fascinating about the country’s breakdown is that it’s led entirely by the GOP and their adherents are gaslighting the living daylights out of us at every turn. Witness the “are boomers ready” thread, wherein the OP talks about how the GOP plans to do away with Social Security and are the boomers ready. Despite quotes from the horses’ own mouths, several gaslighting goobers assure us that no, that’s not what they meant and here’s why we’re silly for thinking the way we do.

The thing is we all watched the GOP steal a Supreme Court seat, we watched them support all the crimes Trump commit, we saw evidence of the party’s treason, of their absolute corruption, their fascism and still people are pretending that the Democrats are the ones too far gone?
