I just want to say 1 thing to the former Optimum Employees: be real super careful. you might have good memories of him, he might have been a charming boss, he might have helped you out at one point but that was because he had cash. Now he is in trouble and he is showing you his true character. You guys weren't at the 341 meetings but I can tell you he did and will throw people under the bus. I didnt know how involved his brother Sameh was until Omar brought him up. I didnt even know his dad was even in the US until Omar brought him up. I didnt know about his partnership with Steve Ross until he brought it up. Same with Bobbie's involvement with the finances. Dude is ruthless and you will eat the bottom of that bus when he needs to save himself, family or not. |
Jsteele…please explain the rationale behind deleting those posts please? |
I thought part of this discussion was an attempt to ferret out and disseminate the truth? If former employees are able to impart details about what happened during their time at Optimum Group, Optimum Construction, Optimum Interiors should they not be allowed to vent here?…their info/observations might just fill in some of the gaps. |
I don't blame the admin from removing the posts but hopefully it wasn't because of misinformation. Remember he wasn't robbed by amr, he hasn't sat through the bankruptcy meetings, hasn't talked to any investigators or lawyers. He might not realize some of these names were either already on record or that people like Amr's brother actually aided amr in some of the crimes or that some of the people named might be key witnesses to the many crimes. |
Who in above post is ‘he’…context is unclear. |
The admin jsteele. He removed some posts because people "that weren't named in the lawsuits" were mentioned but the thing is if you were involved with any of the 341 meetings or investigations many of the names were mentioned in the optimum cases. |
I thought people were also interested in learning the identities of other possible sources of information…would not info like that posted on here have been helpful? |
I 100% agree with you and I think its important to find the missing pieces to the story through new leads and new people. All I am saying is that the admin doesn't know how messed up this family is or how culpable alot of them are. As a side note you damn well bet I took down notes on peoples names and roles that I thought the oag would be interested in. ![]() |
Omar Elrahimy appears have missed one of the core debtor requirements for filing bankruptcy -- cooperating with the trustee. This is a basic element of filing bankruptcy. If you want the relief provided by bankruptcy you must cooperate in the process. This means answering questions and providing information when requested. Have to believe any bankruptcy lawyer understands this, thus it must be Omar's decision to not cooperate. The Trustee and the US Trustee (DOJ) filed oppositions to Omar's attempt to change from a chapter 7 to a chapter 13 bankruptcy. Both oppositions did not mix words in their filings. In summary, as I read it, the debtor (Omar) is not cooperating, not producing requested information and not acting in good faith. I would think taking the 5th during the 341 meetings put a target on Omar. Based on what the trustees have filed, that target just got a whole lot bigger. Don't understand his game plan but will be interesting to see how this plays out in the coming weeks. Bankruptcy judge will rule on motion to convert to Chapter 13, multiple felony trials will start, we will hear Omar's often mentioned "reason" that will explain it all, and digging by multiple enforcement agencies will continue to look for answers and who else may have been involved. Get your popcorn ready. |
What’s the difference between Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy filing? |
The biggest difference between Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 is that Chapter 7 focuses on discharging (getting rid of) unsecured debt such as credit cards, personal loans and medical bills while Chapter 13 allows you to catch up on secured debts like your home or your car while also discharging unsecured debt. Basically Amr wants to keep his fancy sport cars that he's been trying to hide from the trustees. |
When will the judge decide if Omar is allowed to switch from 7 to 13?
What’s the likelihood judge will allow? |
Judge has already ruled on an extension until September 28, 2023. If Omar thought being non-responsive was going to somehow benefit him -- wrong again. |
Who’s extending these cases Omar/his attorney or the state? |
The State needs more time to go through all his finances. Basically Amr has been busy hiding assets, pleading the 5th a bazillion times, withholding documents, and ducking the trustees. You know, what an innocent person would do. As a side hobby Amr also likes to throw his relatives and partners under the bus and get them legally liable too. |
