It was a great experience for me. I was not Greek. I never attended a sports game. I learned a lot from amazing professors. I saw a ton of amazing live music and went to many very cool, artsy coffee shops. I also learned how to navigate life in a small city. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Go Blue! |
Way way underrated for undergrad. How do I know this? The juvenile Michigan hating troll that keeps reopening this thread every few days. Somehow feels threatened that Michigan is a popular school. Michigan is not very Greek at all. Approximately 17 percent of the undergraduate population are in fraternities/sororities. That’s about average for a university. Michigan also has a 97% return rate after freshman year. That doesn’t lend itself to having a terrible experience on the campus. |
Go Blue! |
The Michigan hater who keeps reopening this thread is most likely a Northwestern (or should I say, NWU or NW) alum who is jealous of Michigan's (and UChicago's, and Notre Dame's) superior Wall Street and Silicon Valley placements, as well as the lay recognition of Michigan (and Notre Dame). |
Coffee shops in a college town. Wow. |
If you subtract anti-social kids, it shakes out to about every other classmate is in a frat or sorority and they control the undergraduate social scene. |
Overrated? No way! It’s Michigan!! |
You sound like an anti-social expert. Remember that I’ve recommended on multiple occasions for you to seek therapy for your addiction. |
Some kids just want a regular college experience. No need to be hostile. |
Great safety if you get rejected from Boston College, Wake Forest, Georgetown, Vanderbilt and USC. |
My DC was accepted to 3 of those schools and chose Michigan. |
Clown. |
They are mostly hype. There is colossal bloat in U.S. universities. |
I’d add NYU, Villanova and Tufts and I’d mull adding Miami (FL) to the list. In the real world, Michigan is competing against George Washington and Wisconsin. |
No, they will barely beat TCU and then get crushed by GA in the championship game. |
